Had the roof down today and when I put it up everything closed ok except for the window. For no apparent reason the door electrics have stopped working. I've taken out and reinserted fuse 83 from the cabin fuse box but this has no effect. Any ideas?

Have you tried putting the battery on charge? Incompletely charged battery plays havoc with my electrics.......
As above. Seems like most of the problems I have had on my DB9 are battery related, and solved by sticking the battery on charge.

Yeah I had this same problem on my Aston DB9. It fitted a new battery and that fixed all the glitches.

Astons are pretty fiddly when it comes to battery voltages. As soon as they drop then they start doing all sorts.

Thanks for the advise.

Now fully charged the battery and still no luck. Anything else I should try?

Sounds like the door module. If voltage / battery all checks out.

I've read online that if I change the door control module I would need to get both changed and have it programmed by a dealer. Is this correct? Would an independent be able to do it if this is the case?

Also read the the modules have to be upgraded to a 'general' new module that AM make for all cars, therfore 2 modules needed. Can someone please confirm? Any ideas on costs?

Thanks

I think your detail about getting both the modules replaced with the later type universal modules is correct.
The modules are available online (and also at main dealers)

and here

I would imagine anyone (Main dealer or Independent) with access to the AMDS diagnostic software could programme them accordingly

I am not sure about the DB9 Volante, but the roof module on the V8 Vantages is notorious for failure (mine went last July) and the interesting thing is that the roof operation still worked perfectly, but it threw the dashboard haywire.

Have you tried disconnecting the battery and doing a window reset (again this is from my experience on V8VR)

Tried all the tricks and tips. Ended up opening the door to access the module. Looks like the module is done for. I had to close the window by getting power to the window motor directly. Power is definitely getting to the module.

The only good thing that came out of this is i've now booked my next service at Trinity smile
