Without doubt I will miss my V12 Vantage if I do end up selling it, but I think the time has come for me to finally move over to an automatic gearbox! I was wondering if anybody could let me know their experiences selling these privately as opposed to a dealer?

If your only reason for selling, is that the clutch pedal is becoming difficult for you, have you considered having an adaption to hand control?

Perhaps it would then be problem solved, and you can continue to enjoy your fantastic iconic car.

The Graziano manual gearbox can be converted to Sportshift (Paddle shift automated manual), I believe AM Works do this and also Bamford Rose (see link)

Indeed. I shall not be converting to a manual but I appreciate the thought!

I tried with mine but private buyers want a substantial discount to warrant not buying a car from a dealer, which would have +1 year of warranty and have been fully checked and prepped.
In the end, I had better offers from dealers than private buyers.
And unless you are prepared to price it aggressively below the dealers' cars, you will just be wasting your time answering calls from all the specialist dealers...

Once you get close to 80-100k, people prefer the peace of mind of buying from a dealer.

The other option for you is to have it on a sale or return arrangement with a dealer.

As mentioned by some others, you will get a better deal if you can part exchange against your next car. What are you after now ?

controlz, for some unknown reason your reply and my post have been removed. The one where you told me the colour and year of your car, and I suggested you'd get a great trade in on an autobox DBS.
