It is a warranty issue because it's a design issue I have raised with my dealer about previously when mine also corroded. AM acknowledge that there is an issue with paint on the mirror stem. Mine was fixed (well repainted) by dealer at no cost. V8V 2010

I did mine myself

Rubbed it down with various wet and dry, masked up the car (mirror cap, door, window, etc) and then used a can of plasti dip spray.

Few coats and it looks as good as new. cost me a total of £20

When the oxidation breaks through again, use an etch primer on the bare metal before the top coats and it will last a lot longer.

Good tip, sorry but can you give an example of an etch primer? Is it something available in your standard Halfords?

Mine has gone too, I didn't know whether to take the mirror off and do it or just mask off and paint in situ. MY2010 Vantage.

I masked everything off.

Good thing about Plasti Dip spray is that it builds up a layer of plastic over the mirror arm which once dry looks exactly the same as the standard arm

This!

Taking it off is best and use a dremel to remove the paint to bare metal everywhere you need to. Taking it off is the only way to remove the lower inserts. You can see them under the arms.
I didn't though, I just masked it off and did it in situ.

Mine have also gone.

My 3yr old could do a better job of painting cars than Aston.

If it has a new car warranty, it should be covered. If it's a used car dealer warranty (even if a franchised dealer) or an extended warranty insurance product (whether AM branded or not), need to check the terms, but generally not covered.

V. Annoying, mine need doing too, I also have bubbling near the door handles. Bit of a pet peeve for me - when I went to Gaydon earlier this year the 177 they had also had bubbling near the handle on one side. Not really acceptable.

There is something really wrong in their processes for this to still be happening, I really hope they address quality as a strategic issue for the company when developing the new models.
