After 18 months of Aston Martin ownership it's time to move on. Thoroughly enjoyed owning both of my AM's but I have been loured away after test driving the new motor...the latest Bentley Conitinental W12 Speed. An absolutely unbelievable machine. Picking it up this week and here's a couple of pics. I only met a few of you guys, keep enjoying your Astons.

Cheers all.

Beautiful and very tempting may I say.

What made you change out of the Aston if you don't mind me asking Frankie as I thought you had come to the party to stay.

Please keep us informed of your progress into Bentley as I'm sure it's one many of us especially us older guys would be interested in hearing.

I'll now make a mental note not to email you 500 times about the next Burghley…………

All the very best on what looks an exceptional motor car………….enjoy...thumbup

Thanks for the positive comments chaps.

Jockman, I'm not quite at retirement age yet but getting close!!

Ed, I thought I was here to stay too. I was invited on a couple of Bentley events and was offered the use of a W12 Speed for a couple of days this week. To say I was blown away by it is an understatement. It's quick 0-60 in 4 seconds, top speed of 206mph, has a deep base growl which is entoxicating. It is super comfortable with heated, ventilated and massage seats and surprisingly so easy to drive.

I did a lot of soul searching as the DBS is such a great looking car but the Speed is just on another level. Not as good looking IMHO but the Bentley so impressed me and the fact I was made an offer I couldn't refuse on the Speed they had in the showroom sealed it.

So the DBS goes in part ex and I'll let you know how I get on with the Bentley.

The Aston will be better loved by the Joe Bloggs but ask me if I care...the answer would be no!

It sounds wonderful Frankie, certainly ticks all the boxes by the look of things.

A friend of mines got an older GT and I refuse to go in it in fear that it may halt my one man campaign in keeping the Gaydon production line ticking over……..biggrin

I'll certainly look out for the updates on the transition so congratulations again on a storming purchase.

That certainly does look like a stunner. Ive always been a big fan of the diamond stitched seats. Big old bus though.

These cars in race trim are making the podium these days ahead of our beloved Astons,,,,it's just the 'steroid abuse' styling that puts me off.

Bob me old mucka Audis are keeping everyone off the podiums last time I looked at anything to do with Le Mans. I wouldn't be seen dead in one though.

Unless they made an Audi hearse like Jaguar do wink

Congrats! Nice looking car. Have been considering the same change. Local Bentley dealer has some nice cars and is always pinging me with photos and emails.

Frankie , and you said the DBS was a keeper ! The chat with Mrs Frankie must have been interesting -
does this one actually fit in the garage ?
Good luck with the change - and no alcantara for you although thats some serious diamond quilting.
Ed , does that mean you are thinking about another Burghley then ?
