Beeping from dash

Three times yesterday my dash starts beeping in about 1 second intervals. Beep - beep - beep and when the beeping starts the media center goes blank and a timer like a stop watch appears and starts counting up from 00:00:00. All three times were on the freeway between 65 - 75 mph. Two of the times, by coincidence?, there was a car pulled over by the police about a quarter mile ahead on the oncoming side. Never made it higher than about 8 seconds.

Sounds to me like the self destruct system has been engaged - were you randomly pressing buttons beforehand, but managed to turn it off before it got to 10 seconds again by randomly pressing more buttons?

What are your top limits?
There was once mention of 55mph, but perhaps that was during a fuel crisis.

Ah, the good ol' days. Loved the logic in that. If they had set it to 0mph we would have saved even more!

My new car did that....drove me mad driving home...turns out it's the mobile speed camera alert.....turned it off in settings...
