Hello guys/gals, i have been popping into this forum for years, I'm a bit of a car hore like 99% of you all, having owned many different marques and some for a very short time!, i like to try out different cars last few being a C63 AMG and onto something a little different BMW 1M, but i always loved the look of the V8 Vantage, i know the forum is full of new v8v owners asking questions, i have read most of them and have taken a great deal of information from you helpful AM enthusiasts smile so i feel fairly confident on what to look out for when it comes to purchasing one, my questions are more aimed at how, what, and where to go to improve/upgrade, i don't like using the word "modifying" doesn't sound right when talking about a AM! generally i tend to leave most of my cars alone but seen some really nice examples online and i would love to achieve the same look even down to alcantara covered steering wheel and V12V upgrades.

I'm looking at 07-08reg so i want to updated seats and dash etc.

I love how it looks but seen a few with very subtle changes like being slightly lower most go for springs and shock set up what would you recommend?

Exhaust upgrades would be of interest?

One thing though i can't seem to find a company selling a particular wheel, i have seen a V8V on YouTube il try add the picture to this thread, i love how it looks on them, quite like the motorsport look on the Vantage suites the chunky wide stance.

So i want a weekend toy and I'm 99% sure its going to be the vantage but i love to add and extra sting in its tail so to speak.

Look forward to joining this very special club very soon!

J

You mention model Year 2008 then updating dashboard.
If you are referring to the later centre console, that would be an expensive almost impossible update. Better to source a Model Year 2009.

The road wheels are 5- stud magnesium, as fitted to the Vantage GT4.

Thanks for the contact details i will be sure to get in touch with them and fire many questions! thanks again Tony.

I may have my wires crossed when i mentioned updated dash i meant the subtle changes to the button colour etc that came with the 07- wouldn't even entertain or like to think of the cost to change a dash on the AM smile, so the wheels pictured are from the AM GT car?, i wonder if OZ racing would do a lightweight wheel similar, wouldn't be surprised if these are in fact OZ Racing.

Cheers

Now you have mentioned OZ Racing, I think you are probably right.
Seem to remember seeing the name on the wheel of a GT4 race car.
I agree, they do suit the car, especially if lowered. Careful with road humps!

I have a Tubi back box on mine. I love it, and it's got better with age (7yrs) with lovely pops and crackles on the overrun. It is quite loud though...more than bearable inside the car but apparently loud (and great!) outside it.

Hmm ok il give them a buzz when i get myself into one, can't blooming wait its all i think about at the moment, like a child at Christmas.

Thanks for the tip re the exhaust options i forgot about Tubi used to hear a lot of them when i comes to Ferrari etc, i bet it sounds an absolute treat on the Vantage biggrin

Coming from the C63, still a NA V8 but bigger displacement it had lots of power to unlock, how does the AM V8 respond or is it just left alone and enjoyed as it is! i doubt il even consider doing anything other than keeping that side of things well serviced.
