A smelly question
Discussion
I should post this in the detailing section, but I presume that the banter here might be better!
When I was looking for my car, all of them (even the ropey ones) had a lovely leather smell in the car.
Mine still has a nice faint leather whiff. The leather has a slightly buff/matt look to it and seems that it hasn't been touched since new (although I'm sure it has but it looks new) and yesterday I treated the interior to some Autoglym leather creme. This seems to have a slightly shinier appearance and doesn't seem to have the same 'Aston Martin leather smell'.
Do dealers have some special leather smelling spray?
How do I get my interior smelling like it's straight out the factory / showroom?

Some leather cleaning products are more smelly than others, some smell stronger than others too.
What I use are the following:
http://www.detailedclean.co.uk/interior/leather-ca...
Once every two months, using a soft applicator pad, spray the cleaner on the seat a small bit at a time and wipe over with the pad. Once that's done do the same with the conditioner and also wipe with a clean microfiber cloth.
In between the above I use the following:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00DU7KW12?psc=...
These are all in one cleaner wipes and are great to wipe over the seats and dash just to keep it clean and the car smelling nice in between the above treatments.
This is what I do, some will do things and use different products. I quite like the smell of the above products, but some may prefer others, swings and roundabouts.

I use the following, which I find gives that leather smell you describe, seems to last a few weeks.

No banter on here....only serious techy stuff.
The aroma of the leather that hit me as I got into my 1991 Virage was quite intoxicating but the aroma from my DB9 is nowhere near it.
I believe that they use different types of leather in the modern cars.
Maybe that intoxication you feel is more to do with those leather straps on your swing in the play room?! I find the more modern leathers make great whipping material ;-)The aroma of the leather that hit me as I got into my 1991 Virage was quite intoxicating but the aroma from my DB9 is nowhere near it.

I am very certain that I do not understand anything you have said.
However It's very nice to receive your post and wish you well.

Thanks for the replies. Having just covered half the interior (it's a two day job reaching those back seats etc.) in Auto Glym Leather Care balm, I may give it a while before trying something else.
Raining here today, we were going out in the AM this evening to a ballon ride, but every time I book the ballon it seems to get cancelled for weather. Here's to more sunshine.
