So, maybe this has been asked before but a search can't find it.

TPMS light just came on this week. Amber light in the panel, but no lights on the gizmo. The warning in the panel reads, "fallo sistema neumatics" which for the English amongst you means "tire system failure" which I am presuming to mean the TPMS; I live in Spain and have of course a LHD car. Cannot find this reference in the manual.

I have shut off the battery, no joy. Tyre pressures are OK and I have not changed the tyres recently.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

How old is the car? What model year? The TPMS batteries in the older system die after 3 or 4 years and need to be replaced. Not sure about how long the new system batteries last. It could be that...

I had a sensor battery go, the symptom was the amber light in the instrument cluster but all of the lights flashed on the unit below the dashboard. Hope it's not too expensive for you!

Thanks for feedback. V8V 2006. Had it now for just over 2 years.

Got to change the rears this week and a service is due so let's see what happens. Ticked I can't find reference in the manual but it would not be the first time I have found a manual translated from the original language has bits missing or errors.

Could be the battery in the sensors. If your life estimate is on the mark the about now is the time for the batteries to give up the ghost supposing they have been changed once already. Had the gizmo changed about 18 months ago under warranty so I am hoping it it is not that again.

If the system is the same as on my previous MY2009 then the sensor has to be changed with the tyre off so my advice would be don't change the rears before establishing what the problem is. I think you need new sensors rather than just new batteries too.

My understanding is that you cannot simply replace the battery on the sensors. They are integral to the sensor itself.

If you need a new sensor (App. £120) then this will need to be re-programmed to the unit under the drivers side glove box.

This can only be done by Aston Martin..........

I've read of so many faults with the TPMS over the years. Many simply disconnect it as it's often perceived as being more trouble than it's worth. I certainly did.

I've never had an issue with mine and it's one of those items on a car I'd like to know is functioning OK...each to their own though.
