I recently had a very minor amount of damage to my V12's front splitter from an illegal speed bump (that I will get the local authority to reduce in height) - it just scratched the edge of the carbon fibre and put a crack in the clear coat.

I spoke to a London based coachworks and sent some pics and they said it couldn't be repaired.

Then I found CarbonFibreRepair.com - spoke to Brett and for a very, very reasonable price he's taken it back to pretty much brand new. When you see some of the repair jobs they are doing, it's very impressive work.

It's the second time I've had an issue with my front splitter, the first one I stupidly replaced in full, had I known what Brett & his team can do I would've let him repair it and save a packet - they can even get the weave looking right.

Highly recommended & if you guys have any issues, I'd head straight to Brett - he'll save you a fortune and the product is practically AM identical.

Cheers...

Nice one!

Don't suppose you have any before & after shots?

Before shot. As mentioned, minor damage, but I have put red lines to where the cracks and problems were, plus the obvious yellow scratch mark (which didn't just rub off!)

I got in touch with them because my splitter had some damage from a brick in the road. Then a bus side-swiped my car while it was parked and the repairs included a new splitter. I have the old one, so I might get round to sending it to them for repair.

We need pictures Steven or are you not that far down the line yet? Love the Vanquish even though I suspect yours won't have a proper roof.

I'll probably wait and see what the new 2016 DB9 is like and take it from there.
Yes it would be a Volante as I appreciate going topless when possible............wind in my hair and all that stuff.
Boring thing is that I'm still very fond of my current DB9V and if it ain't broke I tend not to fix it.

I'll get a pic tonight - it's pretty good to be fair, looks exactly like it did before, so you know what to expect!

Here you go, the finished product... looks pretty good, eh!? There is a lot of dust reflection from the flash and it's too dark to take without, but i'm taking the pic about a foot away.

some people who work with carbon fibre are reluctant to repair it due the the inability to assure performance as well as the issues with repairing vacumminfused and/or pre-preg laminates

Woah! That's pretty freakin' good. Hope I never need their help but if I do I won't hesitate to use them.

Did they actually 'repair' the carbon or just manage to sand back clear coat/resin etc and respray ? Just interested to know if they did any actual carbon fibre replacement or not. From the original picture the damage looks superficial. either way they did a great job and well worth the cost compared to brand new replacement.

As far as I'm aware they can fully repair the Carbon down to the layer by layer and retain structural integrity. But I don't think mine needed such extensive work.
