V8 Vantage Clear Tail lights wanted!
Discussion
Hello Will,
As fate would have it, I removed my taillights two nights ago as I was trading in my 2009 Vantage V8 for a 2015 V12S yesterday. I was about to post it on eBay and upon 'Googling' the lights to get a price, your post came up. I wasn't a member of the forum so quickly joined but there was a blacout period on posts by new members so I emailed Oliver and he released the account.
As we were down to 'hats and t-shirts', as the salesman put it, in the negotiations on the 2015, I said that I'd be keeping my clear lights and had hoped to sell them on eBay.So I put my old red tail lights back on and the car is being picked up by the dealer today as they drop off the new one.
I installed them last August. In fact, in the pictures, you'll see manufacture date stickers of 07/2014 and 04/2014. I also have the clear deck lid brake light . I purchased the set from the AM dealer in Phoenix last summer. All three are in excellent condition, of course. The car was never driven in the rain or snow, ever, so all things still look new. I live in western Canada but we spend a great deal of time in Phoenix so I use the dealer there for various bits for the AM and my 2002 Lotus V8 Esprit.
When I received them, there were only two threaded studs. As a result, you are supposed to remove one from your red lights and thread it into the open threaded hold on the new lights. However, the ones on the red light weren't of adequate length. I called up the dealer and he said that there were two adaptor studs that should have been with the lights. So, he sent those on to me and they will be included in the set. Once you see a picture, this will all be clear! Of course, you'd need to replace the double-sided tape.
I'm not sure if I can upload pics here as I'm new to this forum though have been lurking on it for a few years. I'm on the AMOC forum. You can contact me directly at jseethram@paribuscorp.com. There seems to be a 2MB limit on the pic size using this forum.
If you're interested in them, I'd like to get US$1200 for the set, plus shipping.
Cheers,
Jim
