I'd like to see before and after photos of your upgrade of all the body bits. Have you used a franchised dealer / works or an independent?

I think it's fair to say many don't like aftermarket wheels on here, but personally I think that BBS make some of the best looking wheels. HRE also do similar ones.

The danger is looking like any other boy racer by having wheels which will be seen on a VW or BMW. How many other "prestige" cars do you see with aftermarket wheels? I don't see many.

I think it's safer to go for a newer standard wheel as it is in keeping with the car.

Not a fan of the first two photos, far too boy racer'ish, the big 'BBS' lettering on the centre caps just looks wrong.

I've never been a fan of vantages in black the last few years, but i''ve lately made a u-turn and I do llike the look of the black on black. Maybe spray the existing Aston wheel centres and put them back on ?

Good on you for doing some mods smile

Im a Tungsten owner and gone down the line of some mods also

Carbon Sides Strakes
Carbon Lip Spoiler
Carbon Tail Light Inserts
Clear Rear Lights
20" OEM DBS Wheels or 19" V12 Wheels depending on my mood!

So far

Looking at V12 Side Skirts and Bonnet next

I think the HRE Wheels suit the Vantage and are similar to the BBS wheels that you have shown.

Have a look at the 6SpeedOnline forum link below

Or some other HRES

or the ACE wheels to show what Silver looks like on the Tungsten

ScotPak on the forum put some nice ones on his car, but needs to go lower wink

Your photograph illustrates perfectly, the problem with black wheels.

I cannot even see what wheels are fitted.

The picture below shows some popular AML wheels (2009 to 2012), and although the wheels are also in the shade, the details are still visible.

Black wheels lose the design

Gunmetal / Satin are better

I do prefer the Silver Look on the Tungsten Car tho'

Here is mine with the DBS wheels on

Look forward to seeing some pictures. I have 20 inch projex circuits in Matt black, spaced wheels and lowered suspension see photo.

I like my rims but lots on here don't. I like them and that's what is important. Personally I'm not a fan of the N400 side sills as I think they look too fussy but each to their own. I'm on the fence about carbon bits. Mine has the bonnet vents, grills and brightwork all in black which I think works well. I also have a full exhaust system, custom made bucket seats, V12 steering wheel and gearstick, iPod connectivity, black ski slope and bigger brake setup. I'm all in favour of some modifications!

Thanks smile

OP: the color is called "california sage". It was only available on the 06 - 07 v8v I think, don't know the history behind it but I think its a historical color. Here are two pics from the front, one is the car moving, one not so you can see the wheels.

Thanks!

Yes a touch lower would look fantastic but already bottomed out twice on the front splitter so I would only want to lower it 10mm,

It's coilovers or nothing IMO and it handles so well now!

To be honest 20" look ok on a non-lowered car IF the offset is not too low and they stick out too much. When I put the DBS wheels on it look like a 4x4 at first because of the low offset and wide rear.

But a lowered car always looks better than a non-lowered car........

I run DBS and the V12 wheels and a Carbon Splitter on mine with H&R Springs and the ride is good and I don't have any real grounding issues, but I do avoid speed bumps where I can. But the only thing that does catch / scrape is the plastic vertical drops inform of the wheel near the arch liner, so its all good smile

Hi Jon39,
While I was convinced on getting dark wheels, your view on wheels being brighter is certainly true for wheels that deserve it! I was looking at hre p101's, and have to agree - I think it would be a waste to order these in a dark colour.
