Midday today... acquired.
12.03 Dropped brand new crystal key and chipped it.
12.05 Started car with black key.
12.08 Pressed Sport button and suspension button to set to sport.
Pulled paddle to select first.
Exited forecourt.

Now, having been used to double clutch boxes and more recently the fastest of them all, the PDK-S,
I knew that the sportshift III was going to be a hurdle but I felt confident that with my preferred style of driving and some time I could get the best out of it and hopefully even begin to enjoy it.
I had already decided never to press "D" prior to purchase.

12.11 Excitedly relieved about the reality of sportshift III smile

12.20 first dual carriageway.
12.21 Totally SOLD on sportshift III

I just love it already.

Every single You tube review talked about the box in a negative way although some journos had shifted a little by the end of their reviews but non were raving fans.

It totally suits the V12S and in that application I wouldn't swap it for a manual or even a double clutch set up.

1.07 Stop for fuel. Very positive looks and comments from fellow re-fuelers.
(Always nice for a seasoned Porsche driver ha ha)

1.14 Dropped the roof and turned the heater up and headed back out onto the A roads.

THAT NOISE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Addicted already.
That engine... WOW

2.20 Join Motorway.

2.35 PRESSED D!!!!!! and it was fine for motorway use so chuffed about that.

2.45 Stop at services to put roof up that I forgot to put up 25 mins earlier.

3.00 Checked out the standard 700w hifi and no complaints at all there.
3.03 HIFI OFF smile

Cruise cruise cruise with cruise control on. Nice simple system.

5.00 Leave motorway

5.10 Dropped roof (Hey, its day one so i can drive with my roof off in the dark and cold surely? smile )

OMG I love this car.

6.00 Home

6.02 Looking out of window.
6.05 back again.
6.09 and again.
6.22 yep.
6.30 Outside walking around it.
6.35 Instructing neighbour to stand to rear of car.
6.35 Blasting neighbour into next week with just a stab or two of the black pedal biggrin
6.45 Looking out of window again smile

Many congratulations on your new purchase and welcome. Is it Flugplatz Blue or is that just your PH handle? As Ed suggests, without photos it didn't happen.

Can I just say congratulations and if you love the sound with the roof down can I just recommended that you get the switch to disable the fuse. It sounds even better then!!!!

Agree whole heartedly with everything you've said above.
It's a beast!

Need to do a little write up of my first few weeks which to be fair have been a touch uneventful due to the crappy weather.

Any pics?

Warwickshire's a right ole trek from York but I'll see how it goes.
Do you know if anyone else is going down from North Yorkshire?

Sorry not sure who's from Yorkshire on the list but there's bound to be some one.

Don't worry about the distance, just think about what your now driving and enjoy the ride.

Ask the question on the McGurk thread as some one might own up and make it a convoy…………..rubber duck.

Would be nice to have you along…..thumbup
