After letting my wife drive the Vantage I noticed she put the glass key in upside down so the wings were inverted yikes - I almost made her pull over and put it in the correct way round. Am I the only one, I wondered?

I did not know that the key can be inserted upside down.

The glass key does look good, but I fear dropping it, so it remains stored in a box.
Did someone say it costs nearly £1,000 to replace?

Dropped mine and lost the badge recently, so I can't use it until I buy a new one and dremel off the pin. So I'm stuck with using the glass key. (right way up, of course)

Yesterday I inserted the (glass) key upside down - by accident. Instantly felt a lack of response while driving. Pulled over and fixed it. What a difference!

My one of those gets stuck sometimes , so if car stalls it starts straight away.
Glass key is kept in leather pouch and very rarely used.
Plastic key used most.

Blimey mate, you are brave saying you "let" her drive the Vantage. We take it in turns. Its only right. plus she looks good driving it.

She still leaves it in D, oh, and apparently uses Sport to overtake. Untrainable and always right....but does make an excellent speed limiter. The upside down key event was the first time she'd ever driven me in the Aston.

Two daughters and I went to the Spectre event in Berkhamstead (3 into 2 doesn't go so her DD was used). Unbeknownst to me she went by herself in the Aston to MK. She said she felt a million dollars touring up and down in front of the cinema. So, yes, she does look good driving it. cool

Carbon Fiber is awesome! I use my glass key all the time. Bought a spare body and transferred guts from plastic so no more plastic. One has a substantial chip. Let the wife use that one. I think the glass key is all part of the experience.

My glass key is quite badly scratched. First owner of my DBS did more damage to it in 15 months banghead (knob) than I had done to my V12V glass key in four years of ownership

Priced one yesterday oddly enough whilst car at Aston Martin Works for third service....just under £450.00 inc vat and programming. Seems ok to me.....

I would have thought a lot more than that actually!
