Nice Mix. Could listen to that engine all day.
Quick question on mic placement. I've done the Gopro a couple times. Placed an external mic on the plastic mesh about 8 inches from the tail pipe and got a strange sound when the engine passed about 5k rpm. Tried it behind the bumper clipped to the chassis near the tailpipe and this one picked up road noise. Have a wind deflector on the mic.
Wondering if in the boot it would still pick up the sound? Any experience on a good position and mic setup for getting that exhaust note?

Your own film Steve, encouraged me to experiment more with video and sound. After trying various microphone outside locations, I found even with a wind shield, the recorded sound was always spoilt by wind noise. A microphone inside the boot produces the clearest sound of my V8. The recorded sound is loud enough, and it is easy to run the cable within the car.
I now have the wireless OBD gadget, but have not yet had time to film with that plugged in.
