Paint / Rust warranty
Discussion
Being a 'man' - I've not yet brought myself to read through all the manuals and paperwork that came with my 5 yr old V12V.
I'd like to understand if these cars come with any type of paint/rust warranty?
I am asking because I've recently noticed the 'arms' that hold the wing-mirrors look to have some type of bubbling under the black paint - which I am assuming is rust.
Is this something that other Vantage owners have seen on their door mirror 'arms' ?

You won't have to search very far to find quite a few examples of the same thing!
They come with a paint warranty, but Andrex do a better and more useful one.
If you bought through a dealer, lean on them to sort it for you.
Generally the fault is not rust. Just piss poor preparation and materials used.
Steel yourself for more fun and games - around the door handles, bottoms of the doors, edges of the bonnet. And please never let a bird defecate on it without wiping it off within a second.

The rust warranty probably only applies to the windscreen surround and rear wings, because I think they are the only parts of a Vantage body made of steel.
Some on here have used a Hammerite product to restore the mirror arms. You are certainly not alone with that problem.
Aston Martin are very proud of their paint process taking 50 hours for each car. That is more than many mass produced cars take to build.
What could possibly go wrong?
