Boys and Girls,

Quick question. I'd like to remove the front number plate completely including the plinth, but from what I can see (just after a little googling), removing the plinth is going to leave a bracket hole or two. Has anyone been through the process? The US spec number seems to be minus holes (because there's no need to remove the front plate). Don't really want to have to replace the front bumper so I'm looking for hope (or easier solutions).

Cheers

Chris.

If you mean you do not want to put a front number plate on at all then there will be two square holes in the bumper below the grill.

Yep - that's what I meant. I figured that might be the case. Cheers. Might have to get the pollyfiller out wink

Chris,

On my V12S I noticed that the factory are now fitting a thinner, slimmer version of the number plate holding plinth which is much neater than the original I had on my 2010 V12 Coupe.

I decided to leave mine on the car but turned it up side down which left the mouth of the grille fully exposed as the top of the number plate now aligns with the lower lip of the grille mouth.

Probably worth looking into or trying the newer plinth.

Thanks Chief - great to know. Any chance you could post a picture please?

Cheers

I thought you might ask for that.

Its tucked up in its PJ's at the moment nose forward in a very packed garage but I'll try and find something in the album that might offer a half descent view of what I'm on about.

Watch this space.

Now go and get that lovely Green V12 signed up to appear at Burghley as I'm sure I'm not the only one wanting to see it in the metal.

Assuming that the plinth arrangements are the same on your car as the early 4.7 cars, I don't think you will have any problems Chris.

As you have said, after removing the plinth two rectangular holes will be revealed, but when you stick on your number plate the holes will be covered. As the new number plate position is curved, the sticky pads have to work hard, but my plate has not fallen off yet.

A 'post' photo below as requested. Most prefer the revised look, because the entire historic grille becomes visible. Just don't have any parking bumps.

Thanks for all the replies so far. I was hoping to leave the number plate off entirely - but it's looking like this is going to leave some visible holes in the bumper.

@Ed - signed up for Burghley. See you there mate!

Oh I see.

You need a Ferrari Enzo. Almost the only model which is legal in UK, without a front number plate.
My apologies if you live at Buckingham Palace, because you don't need one on the back either.
