Hi all, stupid question of the day. Battery in our DBS has died, so am trying to plug in the CTEK charger and whatever I do, I can't seem to get it to charge via the positive jump start point in the engine bay. I'm assuming it's something to do with not being able to pick up a ground point in the engine bay? I've gone off the alternator and various other points but the CTEK just flashes up a warning light telling me it can't start charging after a couple of minutes.. At a bit of a loss at this point... Any suggestions?

PS the unit I have is a new MXS 5 and I've charged a couple of completely dead batteries with it recently so certain it's nothing to do with the charger.

Key is opening the doors but it doesn't open the boot which appears only to be electric?

Jump starting it seems to be the only option but it's very bizarre why the charger isn't working.

If the battery is so dead, it may not make a sufficient circuit to take a charge from the Ctek. In almost all cases, if the battery has gone that flat, it will be beyond recovery anyway. The plates will probably be distorted and short circuiting within the battery body/case.

If you do need a new battery, try using an 019 sized AGM battery, they are pretty good at taking complete discharge without damage.

Duracell make a very good one.
