Hi folks,

My wife wanted to put my newly arrived cover in the boot of my DB9 for storage but couldn't get the boot open. I tried it but no joy. After getting a new battery for the remote I tried the key in the driver's door and bingo - I could release the boot using the master unlock button on the centre console.

However the remote still wouldn't operate anything, even after putting in the new battery. Alas I only have the one key and remote so there's no spare to try. The key does work the locks and starts the car no problem but it's a real hassle doing without the remote. What really scares the bejaysus out of me is the prospect of a £500 bill for a new pair - even 250 for one!

Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas that I could try before biting the bullet? Or has anyone had any luck with getting a Volvo, Jag or Ford key and remote combo working?

Cheers, Mark

Timpsons have 49 of their shops, that can help with remote car keys.
Whether that includes our keys I do not know, but it might be worth a look at the website and a 'phone call.

Please report back, if that way is an option for us.
