happy new year from a new owner
Discussion
I cannot wipe the smile off my face as today I picked up an oynx black 4.7 Vantage with sport pack from Aston Martin Edinburgh.
It was with a wee twinge of sadness we traded the lotus evora for the vantage but have had my fun with the lotus and just too difficult to get in and out with a dodgy knee.
Car feels great with a wonderful noise and feels quicker than the lotus. Have not really given it much push yet as the weather is atrocious here/ Im a very lucky guy!!

Congratulations on the new arrival it looks just great.
Top marks for getting the official pictures up so soon……..
,very impressed by that.
All you need do now to help with the perfect New Years celebrations is to get your name down on my list to attend our big gig at Burghley come July.
Don't be shy you'll be made most welcome along with the other owners from north of the border who are making the trip down.
Congratulations again on the new motor…….

July sounds good
After 2 days some initial ownership views against the evora as a benchmark.
Experience - like an event every time we go in the car. I did 100 miles yesterday on a mix of road styles. Pulled in to service station for some water and people over taking photos and asking questions. Had similar type of attention with the lotus
Interior - I think it is stunning with very high quality fit, finish and aesthetics - wife loves the lighting
Dimensions - getting used to the size differential against the evora. However, The amazing lines give a different perspective every time I look at the car. I was slightly worried about getting the car in the garage but now have my datum in garage and find reversing in easier. The garage is a double garage with 2 up an over doors - this will get a makeover as we are extending the house this year
power - faster than lotus, more torquey
Noise - removed fuse 22 and went through the Clyde tunnel!! Lotus had a sports exhaust but this kills it
Handling - the car feels planted but will take a few decent runs to build confidence in the chassis. The evora stuck to the road like s
t to a blanket in all conditions. Could feel the tail move yesterday in the damp and getting power down in the wet was a challenge

Hi keep us posted how you find it compared to the lotus, does it feel as modern, what the tech is like, menu didn't you go for 911 or R8?Experience - like an event every time we go in the car. Welcome......good to start with the training version before you move onto the adult versions....enjoy...
That made me chuckle I must admit but my dick is big enough to fill two prams and there will be a Ferrari going in beside it! All Aston's are great cars (save for the Cygnet which was a mistake in my opinion!) and we should all be happy with what we have. I would have certainly been more than happy with a V8 Vantage which is probably the sweet spot and the most value for money car you can buy in the Aston range.
There's no adult version of any Aston, it is all down to which model you prefer. Some choose to upgrade, others are happy with what they have. Let us all enjoy our cars without having to look down on someone else. We are all part of the same family! Happy New Year!
