Removing the Center Console?
Discussion
I had some free time today so I thought I would install the ten glass buttons I purchased to replace the plastic ones on my '11 V8VS. The seat buttons were easy, the top four in the ski slope were fairly easy but I can't seem to figure out how to take the center console apart so that I can access the stereo head unit to install the three that fit there. I have watched the video on youtube about how to access the area in a DB9 but it is not the same as a Vantage. Does anyone here know how to take apart the center console? The final glass button goes in the dash to release the glove box.
How did you do the seat buttons?
The other bits are easy, just time consuming.
1. remove carpet battery cover.
Remove aluminium strip at the front of the battery cover. Be careful around leather, its sharp.
At the back of the centre console (just behind hinge, a little pocket) is a small clip in cover that hides two T25/30 torx screws. Prise up the little cover and remove the screws.
Lift the rubber mat in the cup holder and slacken (not remove) the two screws.
Lift the back of the armrest and slide it back.
Remove iPod/12v power connectors from underneath and remove.
The rest is the same as DB9 below-

I couldn’t bring myself to use a socket and hammer so tried a few other ways. I was successful using a screw driver to prise the bezel of the switch, working my way round. One switch came out complete, one separated and just the front part of the switch came out. It was then just a matter of using a pair of long nosed pliers to pull the rear part of the switch out. Used one of my plastic trim tools to protect the leather on the seat.

Here's a bit more info about using a *14 mm* socket to remove the plastic seat switches.

Prying with anything around Aston leather makes me really nervous. One slip and you're hating life...
