Picked up my 2006 V8V this afternoon and had a great drive home, just a shame there was traffic on every road frown

Here she is in the garage for now until the Westfield forces it onto the driveway.

I have one quick question. I've read on here to look out for the temp to stop at 1/4 instead of the expected 1/2. Mine seems to be at 1/4 when sat at 70/80mph in 5th or 6th gear but does go to 1/2 if accelerating harder and having the engine under load. Is that normal or something to get checked out?

Thanks, I'll give them a call tomorrow. It has a 12 month warranty so should be fine.

As others has said, it will be the thermostat, not an expensive fix, and quite common at this age. You will likely suffer (even more) poor mpg until fixed also, not that its something one often looks at.

I suspect it may just be cars of this age that haven't already had it replaced earlier in its life....AM changed the thermostat design around 2009/2010 I think as they were getting a lot of failures. I had mine changed under warranty for a new design (I'm pretty sure) and it's been good as gold since (6-7yrs later...2-3x longer lasting than the original one).

Congratulations thumbup she is beauty. As the other guys have said it sounds like a thermostat issue, which will also affect performance/economy, get it checked straight away, but don't let that put you off enjoying a stunning Aston smile

Get the dealer to change the thermostat as it would appear to have failed/on the way out. As everyone has said, the needle should be half way up after about 4-5 minutes of driving.

Mine has definitely gone then - it gets to half way but takes 15-20 mins!
