V12VSR "Engine System Service Required" dash message?

Ive had it twice in the last month.
Turn car off and on and its gone.

Any ideas?

It might be to do with the actions of the drunk.

Get an OBD reader and turn it off. It's a frequent problem, nothing to worry about

If it's "Emission System Service Required" it can easily be turned off with OBD reader as previously suggested. Usually to do with O2 sensors along the length of the exhaust IIRC - however it can mean one of the sensors is dirty / on the blink and needs replacing. If it isn't persistantly on - I'd get it looked at next time it's in - presume it's still under warranty as a V12VSR ?

Hi there,
I had the same thing in September while I was travelling through France in my V12V. I phoned Aston martin and they said likely to be faulty sensor. Anyway trip went well but on my return went into the dealer and as they do, hooked it up to the diagnostics machine.
It turned out it was due to misfire on 4 cylinder, they ranged from 4 misfires on one cylinder to about 90 on another, this was over the course of a 2000 mile trip. The cause was failing coil packs. Apparently they have a life, not always long one, as my car has only done 11000 and 5 and half years old
As there's a lot of work to get to coil packs, its recommended to replace all 12, as u don't want to replace 4 and then another one goes.
So my suggestion is get it checked out.

I had a similar thing the day I picked up my brand new V12S seemed to happen after the brake pedal was kept down whilst in 1st gear at a junction - tuurned out to be a faulty brake sensor so perhaps a generic message error !

My 'Emission system service' warning light is on and off pretty much all the time at the moment.
According to the main dealer its being triggered by the anti-skid module, something they've never seen before!
It's going back to them for a week so they can send the data to Aston for a fix.
Car drives fine btw.

Hi I had similar on my DB9 diagnosed code with my OBD reader (using Ford codes) as over torque on throttle and found was slight oil pull over on right throttle butterfly causing it to be sticky. Cleaned it and breather tube and seems fine again.

Any one know where can get the third section of manual that has OBD codes and how to fix problem it is about 300 pages I believe.

Buy a cheap ODBII reader from fleabay and pull the code from the plug on the drivers side.
Google the code and that will give you some idea

I've had this same light on my V8V. It might be down to my car sitting around with very little use for the last few months. I checked the ODB ports but no faults were logged. I also had it once when trying to turn cruise control on.

Happened to me yesterday. My 2015 V12S has less than 100km on it. ADM mode was on. Came to a stop and geared down. That msg then came up upon getting underway with an alternating msg of "ADS Off". Drove a few km, re-started, msgs ceased.

Unless you live hundreds of miles away from the dealer and you are a mechanic i cannot see the point in buying a diagnostic tool. So yes you know what the fault is but you cannot do anything about it anyway so you are confused, all be it at a higher level. Get it to the garage and get it fixed. My DB9 spit out messages as its main occupation - unfortunately it seems a bit like an AML curse. The Vanquish (old) had the "check engine" light coming on most times and there was no fix.

I had all 4 cat's replaced on the my V8 but then it happened again when cruise was on. They tracked it down to a faulty brake pedal switch.

Hi, I have a 2015 Rapide S, and on the way back from as 2hr drive I stopped for a refuel. When I tried to start the engine...nothing but "engine system service required". After as bout 4 attempts, the car started, seemingly fine and with no messages and no OBD faults. Fortunately, I was near home. Booked into Works to take a look. Will report back if we find anything.
