Experts,

My Meteorite silver Vantage is calling out for clear lights, but it seems there are two options - one with light grey surroundy bits and one with dark grey / black judging by these photos. Am I right? I think I prefer the darker look, but it could be the lighting on these photos. Please can you confirm that 1. There are more than one clear option. 2. If so, is it just grey and black (and possibly carbon) and 3. What does it matter, you can't see them when you are driving - spend the money on gin and cigars....

I think this looks like it has a grey surround.

I think this has a black / obsidian / wky term meaning black surround:

Am I right that these are different? Does the darker one look better? Etc....

Thanks,

Mark

The grey ones were the first version of clear lights I think and then later came the Carbon black edition versions with black surrounds.

I think red lights would look good on a grey car?

Clear with the black surround looks far better than the red or the ones with the grey surround which I have never seen before.

The clear lights give the rear a far more modern look.

Now I recognise that Stingray! Used to be in rotation at the Classic Car Club in Shoreditch. Where was that photo taken as she seems to be in some esteemed company?

I take my car for detailing by a guy who works for P1 in Esher (another car club) I enjoy looking at the other cars whilst my car gets attention.

The clear lights look a bit chavvy on some colours, but on yours the second pic (dark surround) looks the best of the bunch imo.

I'm on the fence on my colour (Tungsten Silver), I think it looks better with red - some pics I've seen with them clear I also think looks good, but others I think it doesn't work at all. I'll probably make my mind up if and when the rear lights ever go on the blink.

Leave them red. Looks better and gives more money for gin. Win win.

Carbon black lights. I think stick with red on your car. Looks very nice, red calipers as suggested would be a nice option.

IMO Clear looks very noughties. New cars all seem to be back to red now. Keep it standard unless you like the lexus look wink
+1 Money for Gin and as you point out it makes no difference when you are driving it

I must have been slow to notice this, but the rear lights have not always had surround 'bits'.
Originally the light unit filled the complete opening.
Are the lights now smaller, and so need pieces to fill the gaps?

Yeah, mine certainly wrap all the way around - I did think those photos looked a bit odd.

Is it not just because the red plastic looks more a part of the unit than the grey/black?

(Agree with the poster above ref the noughties.)
