Was thinking about getting the David Appleby Engineering twin plate organic clutch and lightened flywheel. Has anyone had one fitted and put some miles on the part, I'm interested in opinions on how it feels and compares to the standard clutch.

DAE are a great bunch of guys with a lot of knowledge through their racing pedigree and I have used them since purchasing my Vantage 3 years ago. There work is top notch, however I cant comment on the Clutch setup, but have read a lot of reviews which makes for a good case to change it.

All going well I will be adding this to mine later this year also smile

I almost returned my Manual DB9 to the dealers as i couldn't live with the gearbox when the car was cold. I chose to use Bamford Rose based on another forums members recommendation and had the lightweight Flywheel and twin plate clutch fitted. It transformed the car and now an absolute pleasure to drive.

Was that the Aston Martin standard gearbox or the DAE that you had before changing to the Bamford Rose option?

x31james is me, done 6000 miles on my DAE clutch and no problems, still lighter than the standard clutch, and revs quicker! Very happy with it!

Did you get to drive one with the DAE clutch?

It was the original Aston gearbox with just 17,000 miles on the clock.
