Don't know if this has been posted up already, apologies if it has, but Paul from Supercars of London has been given a V12VS 2016 model to play with for the weekend by Stratstone. The grin on his face is priceless...having driven the V12VS I can relate. Enjoy:

Ah, I've been watching that one a few times in anticipation! It's exactly my car. This waiting is getting stressful... biggrin

Decent review, and a passionate guy. Although, i once covered almost 2500 miles around the USA in a V12VS, and it was returning 25mpg, plus, bear in mind the USA gallon is smaller than in the UK [why do they mess around with measurements and the language!!!]. The gearbox is fantastic, but requires driver involvement.

Wow, 2.5k is a lot of miles for one trip. You must've loved it in that car!

I agree with the driver involvement with regards to SportShift. I still don't understand why so many reviewers, especially on YouTube, try and drive it in Auto mode around town. Just lift off the accelerator at the right time and all will be fine! smile

Yes, it was an awesome experience, but they don't have Lightweight seats over there! Plus, it was a really cold winter a couple of years ago, and the car was on Corsa tyres, so the strangest thing was leaving a hotel car park early morning [-5c], and feeling as though someone had fitted square tyres to it overnight!!
Enjoy the Carbon V12, fantastic car!

25MPG is I would think good going, would have expected more mid to high teens unless being well exercised of course.

I think many have got so used to PDK/DSG that if a gearbox requires anything more than a paddle flick there is something wrong with it.

Having gone from sportshift to PDK I am now looking to return to the sportshift as I found the PDK to be soul less. Whereas at least the sportshift requires some interaction on the part of the driver to get a shift without a head lurching session.

We're hearing similar comments more regularly now...... Plus, the V12VS would probably be 65Kgs heavier if it had been fitted with a double clutch system!

Hey mate, I've been following this guy on YouTube since the early days. I'd highly recommend you watch his other videos. To cut a long story short:

  • He started off by filming supercars.
  • Then he teamed up with a supercar hire company and made videos with them to try and decide which one he should buy himself.
  • He ended up choosing an Audi R8 V8.
  • Had a lot of adventures with it and then bought a Lamborghini LP560-4 Bicolore recently.
  • Now looking at upgrading again for something more comfortable.
He's managed to create a whole business out of it and in the process driven all sorts of cars including a La Ferrari, the 2016 R8, a BMW i8 etc. In fact a very recent video he test drove a Virage which he really liked.

I like him because he's really down to earth and most importantly the smile on his face shows just how much he loves driving epic cars.

Git, I'm on 16 biggrin

I've now nearly done 2500 miles since I bought it in October, that's quite a chunk of fuel driving

Enjoyed that but amazed by how much time he spent in D. Funny thing about the new fascia was that I didn't notice it until he mentioned it!

I much prefer the original fascia, seems more in keeping with the rest of the car.
I am sure the new one works much better and is clearer to read but just doesn't sit right to me.

When people ask me about fuel economy I normally answer.
It's a 6ltr V12 Aston Martin. Do you think I care biggrin

Plus it's not a Volkswagen diesel . So More environmentally friendly laugh

Ha, I was tempted at just a regular Vantage or Vantage S so I could get the 2016 centre console...but then realised I'd be spending 99% of the time looking at the road ahead and dashboard.

It already looks different to anything else out there (if not the most easy to use!) and I absolutely love the glass key. It's a piece of jewellery in my mind and have no idea why so many reviewers detest it so. Keep your more "practical" VW Group generic key and I'll look after something far more special... smile

With regards to him driving in D: unlike many other reviewers he's not a maniac who'll just rag a car. He likes to feel comfortable and then slowly unleash the beast (a bit) when he feels ready and confident. It's refreshing to watch...even though I'm shouting at the screen: put your foot down! Plus he's only 25 so still lacking experience!

+1. Also with the new centre console, everything goes through the satnav screen which needs to be deployed for every command.

Just after I had ordered our V12VSR Grange let me have a Vanquish for the day which had the new style fascia and have to say didn't find it that great. Once you get used to where things are the old dashboard works really well. Mind you I have done about 50,000 miles on various models with is so should be used to it by now. The new one would force me to change to it.
