Hey guys,

I'm looking for a rather practical answer or a bit of help here. In few months time I will be a happy chap looking for a Vantage V8, but I am a bit concerned whether it will fit into my small-ish garage - most importantly- will I be able to get out?

My current baby, a Honda S2000 fits nicely, with enough space between the wall and my door to get my very agile body out! I did look at the official measurements and it comes to 11.5 cm difference in width that should be JUST OK, but as the Vantage door swings a bit upward I would love to try one in before I spent around 40k on one smile

So if there is any of you in or near Wimbledon and wouldn't mind to help me out with a try I will offer my best coffee for your time and effort! smile

Minglar thanks for pointing out, according to this it looks like I will have to develop some yoga moves but should be OK!

Cheers!

I have experience of this!

I'd rented a garage as I live in central London. I can't remember the dimensions but it was one of those old council style ones. Anyway, long story short, it fitted, just, but I really could barely get in and out. More importantly for me, parking the thing became pretty traumatic. Do you really want to be bringing your pride and joy within a few cms of a concrete wall every day? It's worth remembering that front end visibility isn't the best, and that with the mirrors in, they are no longer the widest part of the car. I would really try and give it a go with a car before you commit to purchase to see if you're comfortable.

I ended up securing an underground parking space nearby and am far happier!

For information my garage is 2370mm x 4800mm and the car just fits in (And I mean just gets past the garage door opening with less than 10mm either side of the wing mirrors).

I then have to drive slightly to the left so there is enough room to open the door and squeeze out.

I've put some halved pipe lagging onto the garage walls to protect my doors when opening.

Good luck and just take your time when parking.........

Thanks for all your advice guys,

The garage door is 220cm wide and the interior is 244cm. I park my S2000 in it at the moment and having an old dressing mirror in the left corner of the back wall (in a very specific angle! smile ) I can see the front left of the car while rolling in. This allows me to park VERY close to the wall, allowing me to get out pretty comfortably. But knowing the Vantae is 11cm wider and opening in a slightly upright angle, I thought I will just ask for all your experiences smile

Thanks again!

Charlie

Mine sleeps in a 480 x 218.

Foam and mirrors on the walls. You get used to it after a while.

currently planning of an extension with a wider garage ... I may need to sell the car to fund the extension. so will end up with a garage and no car confused
