After 4 years of ownership, my DB9 has had its first problem.

I was out driving this afternoon, and a short way into the drive, I get a error message " Emissions Service Required"

Car was running fine and after about 15 miles I came home and parked in the garage. I have just gone out and tried starting the car, hoping it may have reset itself.

But no, it's now got 3 error messages including Emmissions, it has added "Traction Control Temporary Off " and "DSC Service Required"

I'm hoping it's nothing to serious and the car just having a bad day, but any ideas what it causing all the errors

Thanks in advance.

It could be an early sign of the roof control module beginning to play up. Usually manifests itself by the dashboard lighting up like a Christmas tree with all sorts of spurious warnings. You can test this by disconnecting the roof module (which is easily done on a Vantage roadster - not sure about a DB9V), to see if that resolves the warning lights.

Get/use a OBD reader, get the fault codes, look them up on the DB9 fault code list (you can download the list from a number of websites, just look up DB9 fault codes on a search engine) and that will tell you if it's a sensor playing up or a more serious fault.

Same 3 messages on my coupe a couple years ago after having almost stalled it pulling away from a light. Went away after re-starting, never to show up again.

I would suggest a good charge of your battery. I seem to get error messages when my battery gets run down and needs a good charge.

+1 on that.

Easiest thing to do is buy a new battery first - it's cheap and sorts many things

Battery I would think. Same with me and I had a new one fitted yesterday but the message might apparently take a few drives to go away I am told. In case the message is annoying you by removing the digital speed numbers and flashing constantly, it you press the read button on the dash you can get your speedo numbers back . Need to do that each time you start up though and not a recommended alternative to ignore all messages completely long term

Yep, battery I reckon. I had the same symptoms and had my battery reconditioned - sorted.

Same symptoms. Dashboard like a Christmas Tree. Fitted a new battery. All problems solved. Jags can be even worse.

New battery fitted today.

And no warning lights.

Many thanks for the advice, a simple fix.
