If it is just the bulb that's Orange, and you can remove it, you may be able to fit Philips Silver Vision bulbs. They look Silver/Chrome but illuminate Orange.

Used these on quite a few cars in the past, they're just as bright as the original bulbs.

As said, its the orange bulb within the clear headlight, giving that horrible fried egg look. It is easily rectified by fitting 'silver vision' indicator bulbs. They have a shiny silver appearance but flash orange. The issue with the DB9/S though, is it's a nightmare to access the indicator bulb. You need to remove all sorts of fittings before you can get to it. See below what a poster on 6 Speed online did

Also be aware there is a similar bulb called Silvertech, in my experience they are nowhere near as bright as the Silver Vision.

I did a post a couple of years ago on what bulbs to use and how to do it. Good luck finding it though as I cant find the original post. I am crap at using the search though!!! It also showed the clear bulbs that flash orange on the side repeaters. The only comment I got at the time though was the fact my hands were dirty.

Fancy reposting to a more appreciative audience? I was sold on this until the bit about riveting in an additional resistor. Is that what you did 8Tech?

I think the regular search may struggle with cryptic thread titles, so it is easier to search through the forum members forum history of threads started:

These are the threads that 8Tech started:

The manual states that the DB9 front indicator replacement bulb is a PY27W (3156) bulb. However, the bulb that is probably in the car from the factory is likely to actually be a PY27/7 (3157) bulb. The PY27/7 bulb has twin filaments inside, I'm guessing for US DOT compliance to show a yellow marker at the front (7W), and a brighter indicator flash (27W). Euro cars will only make use of the 27W flash part as it is not permitted to show a constant yellow light and therefore this filament is not needed, hence the recomendation for the PY27W (3156) bulb. Either the PY27W (3156) or PY27/7 (3157) can be fitted as replacements.

Both are available, either here:
Chrome Amber 3156 PY27W Capless Wedge Indictor Bulbs
or here:
3157 SILVER CHROME AMBER Auto Car Light Bulbs P27/7w

I am sure you may well be able to find them elsewhere too.
I hope that helps

Unfortunately it doesn’t look like you can get Phillips Silver Vision in PY27W, although the other versions linked above may be ok, you’d have to try them.

The Phillips bulbs are as bright as the originals in daylight, I wouldn't use anything that wasn't as bright even if they do look nicer.

A more glaring colour mismatch is the yellow rear licence plates on UK registered cars. Looks cheap and garish. I read it was used so that drivers could tell whether other cars were approaching or moving away, and yellow was chosen to provide the biggest contrast from the front plates. The French changed them in 2009 - maybe it's time to do the same? Cheaper than changing out headlights for overall aesthetics too smile

Bugger..you beat me. Embarked on this task last weekend. Decided to replace side lights with LEDs at the same time. Replaced indicators and side lights..went to check that they worked.. they came on for a minute then it all went pear shaped. Got brake fail message, then urgent airbag service message. Thought the LED's might have cause the issue (I didn't disconnect the battery before doing all of this). Quickly put the old lights back in. Went to start the car..nothing..except 765 more warning messages. By now it is raining. Car is in carport with roof down (and roof fail message one of the 765. Put cover on car (put broom in middle of car to hold up cover in case rain gets too heavy.) Go inside have a beer and cry.

Spend night planning on how to get car towed to dealer when towing eye inaccessible because of location of car. Rain forecast for next 7 days.

Then because I have read close to 100% PH posts remember that 765 error messages = flat battery put beer down plug ctek charger in, go to bed after praying..a lot.

Wake up .. go to car.. put ECU in...see red bezel. Happy..I can't tell you how happy..

car starts. Resolved to try again this weekend.

On the plus side, I did swissvax the wheel arch liner. Something I would only admit to to this forum.
