Hello all.
I've been lurking around these forums for awhile as a guest and have found a lot of useful information.
I scratched my Aston itch last September and bought a 2010 V8V roadster in onyx black with obsidian black upholstery with silver stitching. I live on the Wirral and bought mine from Stratstone in Wilmslow after calling in on a whim the day before my sons wedding last July. 2 months later the itch wouldn't go away and I booked a test drive - I ended up buying the car!

Work done so far:
Full detailing by a local company - well worth the money!
New resin floor for the garage to stop cement dust contaminating the car cover! I painted the walls to stop dust from there as well.
Its just been back to Stratstone for an MOT and service.
The comments it gets wherever we go are amazing. People really do love Aston Martins whether its the lad who delivers our paper and asked to sit in it to the old fella who came out in his slippers when we stopped for drink at the pub next to his house.

Congratulations!
Black does look amazing especially when the sun is out and it's so reflective. May I ask how much you paid for the detailing? I was thinking of getting mine done as it's black as well.
Now the weather is getting better you must be enjoying having the roof down. Can't beat that exhaust note! Agree with the reaction from people: Astons really do get admired everywhere.
Enjoy.

£350 all in including convertible top treatment & interior.
Although the car was in pretty good overall condition there were a number swirl marks which have now been removed and the results speak for themselves when you look at the Porsche reflection!
Here's a couple more showing one particular area:

Wow, that's a big difference. I've noticed some small swirl marks on mine so gonna have to give it a go. Black just shows everything up so much more easily. Seems quite reasonable price wise.£350 all in including convertible top treatment & interior.

Thats why I had to have grey, I live down a road that has no ditches at the side so there is a constant flow of water and mud to drive through even during the summer. In fact every time I drive my car I have to wash it,
otherwise I'd love to have it detailed. Birdbrain said:

That looks amazing...and pretty good value at £350. I've got a black Ferrari 599 and would like to have this treatment done, too. Where did you have it done?£350 all in including convertible top treatment & interior.

Hi Birdbrain,
Looks lovely, same as mine with the exception of the wheels. What did you have done to the hood exactly? mine is a little 'grey' and I wondered if your treatment sent it back to black or was just a waterproof exercise?
Got mine from Wilmslow too (I'm in Norwich) as they had the only 'spec I wanted' car in the country at the time I was looking - they were very good, have to say.

Dear Mr Birdbrain
Welcome to the forum.
You've done a sterling job so far in purchasing a great looking motor, having it professionally prepared and then doing your first posting along with the must have pictures…….
Very well done indeed…..
So congratulations on a lovely motor car from which I just know your going to get so much enjoyment from so congratulations on an immaculate first post……………but and I say but something is missing…..
You haven't signed up to join us all at Burghley on the 3rd of July to display and show off your wonderful motor.
Come on you've been a fully fledged PHer for nearly an hour and twenty two minutes now so you need to be joining the listing at the top of the page…
Seriously welcome to the forum and the wonderful world of Aston Martin ownership, enjoy …..

Hi BirdBrain
Welcome to the forum and congratulations on a lovely looking roadster. To get rid of the marks you showed in the close up pictures £350 was very good value.
Top marks for a first post being a here's my new Vantage with pictures one.
Hope you enjoy your new roadster and as Ed50 says you really need to come to Burghley to show it off in all its glory.
I don't think he does anything but monitor the forum for people to invite to Burghley or organise things for us to see and do once we are there
