Hi guys, I'm in the throws of putting together on an online document folder, it'll be a Dropbox folder that I share around privately to people who want to download manuals and so on for their cars. It's been a bug bear for some time that getting hold of Pdf manuals is tricky and often involves lengthy threads on pistonheads.

Here's the deal, you send me whatever you have (not just manuals, could be anything Aston or other brand related), I'll file it under brand->model etc and I'll give you access to the entire online folder to download whatever everyone else has sent in. I'll cover the cost of hosting, maintaining and generally being the librarian. If I start to gets lots of files then I'll look at making it searchable.

An interesting idea, but if the manufacturers sell manuals, presumably they will not be happy.

Im no lawyer, but this is private use amongst owners only. If we've bought or owned these cars then I would satisfy myself with the fact that I've already paid for this stuff. Agree that technically a manufacturer could ask to have them removed but legal action on their part wouldn't exactly make them appear customer friendly. I'm actually thinking of going to the manufacturers and just asking for the content. It's not unusual in other industries to publish all this online as it reduces customer service calls and helps brand loyalty.

It's available online at astonmartintechinfo.com for a reasonable price. As intellectual property protected by copyright, it's not meant to be shared.

I had a look at that site again - lots of lovely info intended for franchised dealers who get it free I guess. I'm curious about what the Rear Seat Entertainment upgraded software for my car does (or if it even has it)? £70 for 1 day access to scratch that itch! Could print out a folder in a day mind... Hmmm!
