so this week I noticed a strange mark on my DB9's paint (titanium silver). Its kind of the colour of dried blood, (I won't say rust colour) close to the rear edge of the boot. At first I thought it was on top of the paint but clay didn't remove it, then I had a go with some Menzerna polishing compound and that didn't budge it. I was reluctant to keep going. Has anyone seen a paint blemish like this before? I know all about the paint bubbling issues and don't have any of those. Up until now I thought my paint was perfect. Car is always kept under a cover and rarely even gets wet.. unless it is being washed!

I'd say rust looking at the pic, especially if it's 'under' the top coat. Unless it is just a paint blenish, hard to tell really

Yes I agree it has that rust look, at least in colour, but none of the other rust symptoms, the spot is not raised at all, it is smooth to touch and it is not in what I would class as a traditional rust position, the top of the boot lid. Is the boot an aluminium panel? What bothers me is that it did appear quickly..in the space of a couple of weeks.

Have you tried Iron X in case it's a metal flake embedded in your paint? That gets rid of them if it is, will show as red when you spray it on, follow instruction.

If not that then I suggest you work to stitch in time principals and have it looked at professionally. Tiny rust spot today is the hole of tomorrow!
