Dension gateway
Discussion
No. The dension isn't (just) routing audio - it's basically translating commands to the CD changer to ipod commands and vice versa for the responses. Since your S5 wouldn't understand ipod commands even if you could somehow convert the connector it wouldn't work.
I just buy cheap iPods - you can usually get a classic for ~£30-40 and I just leave them plugged into the cars. One of them doesn't even have a working screen.

The Gateway 500 also has a USB port capability as well. If the Galaxy can be configured as a Mass storage device, so the Gateway see's it as a memory stick for instance, then the Gateway will read the folders (rather than playlist of an Ipod/Iphone), artists and albums. This may be a pain to do, so a cheapo memory stick would do instead. If the kit has been set up correctly you should get track and title info scrolling across the bottom of the radio display as well.

Just buy one of these:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/LAYEN-Bluetooth-Receiver-A...
Connect your S5 to the above and play your Samsung music through it....
You have to choose the playlist on your Samsung but you can skip tracks via your headunit.

Does this work in a similar way to the ViseeO Tune2Air products (which seem to now be very difficult to get in the UK)?

Not sure why the 'what'? There might be other solutions - and obviously James knows more about it than me and suggested USB instead - but I'm pretty sure the reason you can't plug S5 into Dension (which is what was asked) is exactly for the reason I gave.
According to Sump you can get your car serviced in under two hours

I just got a decent FM transmitter and it works fine. If you already get the Denison I would get a unit to covert the iPod to bluetooth though as previously mentioned
Like I said earlier I have tried 3 different bluetooth units and none work with the s5 it will pair but will not play music . I have since bought an I pod which is fine. Thanks for the replies. Gassing Station | Aston Martin | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
