I'm with Zurich private clients, it cost me more than my previous 3 policies but my one claim (£2500 for a windscreen) paid out inside 2 days.

I'm with Aviva, multicar policy, but mine is around £350ish for the V8V.

Locktons give very good cover for only slightly more than an online comparison site that include Kwik Fit Insurance! Flux were the most mega expensive on my quote - £2k+!

As always numbers are a bit useless without background.

Locktons, v8 vantage, central london, 33 yrs old, about £800 i think.

Very happy with the service so far.

Be sure they will allow you to use a proper main dealer for any bodyshop repairs - they told me there was a £50ph limit so I declined their otherwise good multi car deal! We have been here before on these pages so maybe a search and a check is in order!

Admiral are fine......I was insured with them when a pizza guy reversed into my V8VR.....allowed me to use any AM approved body shop I wanted.

They tried to get me to use some Micky mouse place but as soon as I refused they were fine. Only thing is you don't get a courtesy car....no big deal.

I'm with Admiral. Pretty expensive actually I have to admit. Renewal will be coming up soon so am gonna start looking around.

I paid extra for the courtesy car option with them. I had an accident when I used to own a Bentley Continental. The car they gave me? A Vauxhall Corsa! biggrin

Are there any insurers out there who give Astons as a courtesy car....that'd be amazing! wink

I believe you can have an Aston as a courtesy car (I was offered one by Chiltern Aston) but remember the extortionate "rental" cost will be added to the final bill. Chiltern told me that they had at times seen insurers rather write cars off as opposed to allow an AM as a rental as it was cheaper.

To be fair I have access to mutilple cars so wasn't bothered about a courtesy car anyway.

Oh.....when Admiral last gave me a renewal figure for my SP10 is was about £1200.......went onto CTM.com........got a brand new policy with Admiral for £350ish.......!!!!

Was with Bell (sister company of Admiral. Made a claim, all fixed by an Approved Aston bodyshop. Then moved to Admiral as they were cheaper the next year (go figure). But in the final year of owning an Aston posters on here were talking aout Admiral had changed their policy on where the car could be repaired - AM Bodyshops were not allowed as they were too expensive. Phoned the Admiral Call Centre who confirmed it was true. Moved to Aviva where the excess is increased (£90 per claim from memory) for using an Aston approved bodyshop.

Know other posters who got a different response from Admiral - don't think anyone got them to commit to it in writing.

You should try NFU i got my insurance on the Aston DBS for £384 per annum. Which I thought was incredible and they had made a mistake.

Exactly why I switched from Admiral on the Aston (BTW had been with Admiral/Elephant for several years). As soon as I got wind of this, I called up to check which bodyshops I could use and I couldn't choose. I could use AM Works (for eg) but correct you pay the difference in labour PH. Switched to Aviva....happy to pay the single claim fee to use any garage.

I think its really underhand to bury in small print that they (newly?) deny repairs at that marque's franchised dealer. Admiral did come clean when I actively queried them about this having been tempted by a multicar policy (but can often fudge others). Lovely huge new tower block in town too and record £400m+ profits...doing well...

I had a quote for a 2009 4.7 V8 Vantage from Direct Line last week. 29 years old, 9 years no claims but one claim declared for a car that caught fire, 4000 miles a year and garaged. No tracker required, £600 a year which I thought was pretty good.
