Going along with the thread about the 7 speed Vantage, as i usually find obscure clips on Youtube i remembered a bit ago about the Corvette having this auto-blip thing on the manual version.

First clip just shows the option in the Corvette

This one is a little more detailed.

Personally, i would have it off and do it myself like i do with mine now.

I doubt the AM version is any different, so there you have it.....thoughts?

I agree with you.

To me my Aston Martin is a drivers car.
Therefore I do not want;
Fastshift rev matching.
Wipers that turn on automatically when it rains.
Headlights that turn on automatically in dull light (although not in fog).
Self parking.

When I want to be wafted along in luxury and laziness, I have a different car for that.

I appreciate that AML have to keep up with competitors though.

+1 above. Also to the tech for tech's sake. Don't need 100 different readings on everything - speed, rpm, water, oil, maybe battery.

The 1st to 4th, with 2nd and 3rd blocked out for economy! Am I the only one who thinks this is outrageous?

Porsche has it, I love it, works really well. Gives you somethings to aim for, perfect heal and toe!

Corvettes have had this 'feature' for many years. Easily disabled if you don't like it, which most do.

Automatic wipers really detract from the driving experience right.. sorry but I found that baffling, I get the whole manual car is more engaging etc but the wipers can do what they want as far as im concerned.

Have to agree with the wiper comment as I don't think it is intrinsic to the driving experience.
Same with the automatic lights. For years all my daily drives have had auto lights. As a result I'm ashamed to
say I often have other drivers pointing out that I have not got my lights on when I am in the V8V
