Michelin Pilot Super Sports on DBS
Discussion
I'm in the midst of securing a manual DBS. The car is 8 years old now and still has the original set of Pzero tyres (13700km/8500 miles). One of the wheels has 5mm (13/64") left, so while not bald, the combination of moderate wear and being an older tire has me wanting to get them replaced.
In looking for replacements I saw that michelin pilot super sports come in a DBS size. Most of the reports are that the PSS is the better tire then the Pzero, however the Pzeros were apparently specially designed for the DBS, so just curious if anyone has any first hand experience in using PSS over the Pzeros in their DBS.
Also, there is apparently a "sport tire" option for the DBS I've heard about. Anyone know what this is?

Good question, I'm in the same boat. I have recently bought a DBS and the tyres are all over 4 years old.
Given the choice I'd go Michelin only based on past experience with other cars, one thing is certain though tyres have moved on since they made the tyre for the DBS which must have been nearly 10 years ago. So I'd be inclined to find a newly developed tyre as opposed to OEM.

I've used PSS on my previous 4.7, now use it on the V12V and DBS. Way better when cold and wear well. They can feel like the sidewalls are a bit soft compared to the corsas but they aren't shy at digging in the grip. That sidewall does make them quieter. They have a rim protector that might save you from minor scuffs.
Best all rounder at the moment IMHO

I'd definitely go the PSS option. I had the standard fit Bridgestones on my V8S for the first 12,000 kms from new than changed to the pilot super sports for the next 10,000kms. Best decision I ever made (almost better then saying I do some 29 yrs ago) the PSS total transformed the car, better ride, grip, quieter and tracked better. Anyway to cut a long story short (I'll post the full story with pics soon). I took the V8S in for a service last Wednesday and drove away next day the new owner of a 2014 V12S with 9,000 kms, Pearl white and literally the most amazing spec. It was fitted with Pirelli P Zero tyres only a few weeks old. After a few days I'm seriously thinking of changing them out to PSS. The P-Z's much Harsher ride, noisy as all get up and traction no where near as good as the PSS. I know the V12S is a different beast to the V8S power wise but so far Not impressed with the P-Zeros.
I'm more than impressed with the V12S though. It feels 20-30% quicker than the 8 and looks a demon.

Not a fan of the Bridgestones either, so now driving my DBS already some years on Continental Sportcontact 5P (MO) which have a very good dry and wet performance. Good grip and combi of relaxed and sporty driving is possible. They come in the right DBS sizes for front and rear and have good reviews.
