Simple answer.....

DO IT (lowering that is, didn't do spacers)

Haven't looked back since, transforms the car visually and makes it soo much more planted, but does not compromise the ride. If you are near oxford come and experience mine.

wink

Mines lowered and wheels spaced, and also resides in Yorkshire

I've been thinking about doing the exact same. I'd be interested to know which springs and spacers people have used?

What size spacers have you used as I have the 23mm H&R now fitted to rear only but don't want to fit lowering springs if it's going to cause any rubbing issues. Thanks.

Jibberingloon, I'd love to see some photos of your car - too far away for a visit I'm afraid. My only concern is if I lower mine, how I'll get over sleeping policemen - how much closer to the ground did your front spoiler get?

Cheers

Best place to look is the DAE Thread when I lowered it initially.

BEFORE

AFTER

It sits a little low on the Bilstein Sports Pack Dampers, but being resolved with some new 10mm Spacers DAE have made up for me. (Will post more pictures when I get it done)

Some other pictures on this post too

Enough clearance for me even with a Carbon Lip, the only thing that scraps is the 2 plastic vertical 2" bits that are just in front of the wheels occasionally.

Those are 20 inch wheels aren't they? So there's a mixture of lowering with springs and raising due to the increased size of wheel. So someone else with 18 or 19 inch wheels would have to be careful about using the same lowering springs...

The 20" have the same rolling radius as the 19"

The tyre profile changes i.e more metal less rubber!

I have put my car on 19" if you look at the other link I posted

Ouch - what does that do for the ride? The sidewalls must be incredibly stiff so this must reduce the compliance of the ride?

Great photos, thank you for posting them - certainly some food for thought, lowered looks really nice!

Do you have road humps in your area?

Even with a standard setup and also being extremely careful, I have heard a scraping noise on a couple of occasions.

Certainly would not want a road car to be any lower than the factory ride height. Too easy to sustain underneath damage on road humps, some of which are higher than is permitted.

No issues with any scrapping on anything to be honest, slow and steady on speed bumps and never had an issue.

Also the ride on the 20" DBS wheels is actually very good. 1000000% better than the original 19" Bridgestone Combo.

I've got H&R springs on my V8V. Ride quality is fine, but it's super low.
Don't put them on if you have the Sport Pack struts - a lot of people complain about them being mismatched, resulting in a pogo effect.

I had 15mm front and 20mm rear spacers. Worked perfectly fine with the OEM 19" 7-spoke wheels with 245 front and 285 rear tires. No longer using them because I got custom wheels made.
