V8 Vantage warning message Paddle shift diabled

Evening all, I am in urgent need of help. As the title has suggested, I got an error message that read some like.
"Mode 1 paddle shift disabled, limited power"
There was probably more in the message but I was desperately looking for somewhere to pull over, as the temperature gauge had also spiked.

The car is a 2007 Vantage with a sports shift box.
