P Zero Corsa - Michelin V12 V Replacement
Discussion
Hi Guys, My V12v's Corsa's are nearing the end of their life and I noted that the GT12's are now running Michelin's. Living on the North Island of NZ running the Corsa's is not an issue, apart from their life. Has anyone tried replacing the Pirelli's with either the Cups or Super Sports.
I mainly use on the road with the occasional track day and have been pleased with the Corsa's once they are warm. Appreciate any thoughts on how they work on a V12V

PSS are a great tire and I've had them on my daily drivers, but why not go for the PSCup 2's? They are surprisingly forgiving on the road and they outperform the Corsas when pushing it/on the track. Had the OEM Corsas on my V12V and V12VS, replaced the latter with Cup2's and certainly prefer the Michelins.

at jag s they used these michelin, they are very happy very enthusiast, they said they are the best tires, until they blow up. I will not spend 5 cents on michelin what ever. I will stick to Pirelli which saved my car and life more than one time.I mainly use on the road with the occasional track day and have been pleased with the Corsa's once they are warm. A guy has his tires blown up and he tried to leave a feedback online, he could not Michelin said tey were not interested knowing his tires blow up, its interesting, I hate michelin, first cause they never did good tires but tires who usually last and are bad everywhere, now that there is a hype about the pilot sport, like if they ever did good tires, indeed not, everybody wants pilot sport, but there a piece of junk and they are dangerous tires. They said there is a better grip than pirelli, then i will be worry cause pirelli is a tender tire and it does not last but is excelent something with more grip and i am not surprised they blow up. Michelin has never done good tires, they are a group of stupid idiots. when these bad tires lat, they are bad everywhere, min the rain, with dry weather, no character, no grip, now they ve done a model that is good? you will trust them? lol....me never even in 50 years. also note there is a super sport ,model who was built with defect and is really known to blow up, dont buy the wrong ones, but they all blow up anyway. you will be jeopardising your car and people safety real bad.

"some guy I knew had a problem, here is one side of a story with no facts or punctuation". Moving on..........There are plenty of reviews of super sport tyres. P zero's, Conti 5P, Corsa's and Cups. Reading them all tell you that Michelin are at the top of the pile.
Corsas and Cup 2's are track focused and will wear out very quickly, but grip like sh!t to a blanket as long as its warm and dry enough. Otherwise they will bite you on the ass. P Zeros aren't as bad in the cold and wet as those but still the best I can say is 'poor' until warm and sticky.
MPSS is a good all rounder with predictable grip in most conditions and excellent wear properties. They don't grip as well as Corsa's or Cups but also don't let go so dramatically in the cold and wet.
The Conti 6 may be a new contender but until it is in AM sizes, MPSS is the only choice for me.

You still haven't qualified any of your statements. Even an idiot knows they have been out there for more than 5 years, what history don't Michelin have?
Despite all the independent tests which show the MPSS being top performers in grip, what specific tests have you dont to prove they "have never been good for grip"?
If you have specific facts to level against Michelin showing the tyres have actual material defects that make them dangerous then we all will be interested to hear it.

"I had horrible experience with Michelin tires- they split on me- both of them."
I red 3 guys having trouble and one trying to let michelin a review they will not accept, for me this is well enough.
could not find the first guy thread who reprot the disaster,,,ask him if he will buy michelin now ...lol

"I have a LOT of proof that Michelins fall apart before the 3,000 mile mark, and only speculation that Michelin buys off authors. Of course, many, MANY companies buy off authors so it certainly wouldn't be unexpected. After all, Michelin DOES skew ratings into their favor. I have proof of that also.
Regardless of all that, I just don't want anyone to be going down the freeway rapidly and have their tires fly apart like mine did (though not on the freeway). Could be/would be deadly.
So, if you DO have MPSS tires, PLEASE check them out visually for cracks inside the tread. Sure wish I would have sooner."

Yep, as long as you don't go over 3,000 miles and they fly apart.
How much do you think Michelin paid for that "Unbiased Review"???
No, different places. The first set was straight from a Sears Auto Center. Those were the A/S3 set. They lasted for crap, and man did the performance suck. Maybe comparably, as I had Pirelli P-Zeros before that. I went to a Discount and they got a prorate to get the Super Sports, which everyone already knows my feelings on THOSE.
The Second time Michelin Customer Support sent me to a different Discount. The store manager got Michelin to do a 100% refund because the Pissy Stupid Shorts were in such deplorable condition after 2700 miles. Again, the traction was horrible, probably again comparatively. It wouldn't have been so bad except for the huge chunks of rubber coming off. Michelin verified the serial numbers before they agreed to it. No counterfeits there. I never queried about the validity of the A/S3 set.
Regardless, if I DID get counterfeits, I'd from then on avoid that company on the chance that I'd get them again. I seriously doubt that happened.
Of the one manager and three employees that I spoke to during the last fiasco, all of them stated that Michelins were now garbage and they somewhat dissuaded customers from purchasing them. Three of those same guys said they had the Hankook Ventus V12 Evo2 tires and they loved 'em. I gave those a shot and have been happy thus far. They grip like a roll of inside-out duct tape and I've heard no excessive noise, even with the top down.
______________
Pilot Super Sports -> Undoubtedly the WORST tires I've ever owned, on ANY of my cars. Horrible traction on any other than a nice warm sunny day. Won't hold a corner if they were glued to it. Last barely longer than a Tootsie-Pop (three licks), and they disintegrate within a couple thousand miles. Michelin payed ME to dump them and buy Hankooks. MUCH better tire.
Oh, and when I submitted the bad review on the Michelin website, they refused to post it stating "doesn't fit our needs at this time". $hit-a$$ company, products and customer service.
Condolences on your loss, Captain. (captusnr)

Is that your basis for your earlier statements?
Once you've read through all of these, then qualify your sweeping statements.

I don't know whether to laugh or make contact with your Doctor to alert him that you haven't been taking your meds............
On a serious note, certain tyres do not suit certain cars or certain driving styles. In addition EVERY product on the market has a % failure rate regardless how small, just because you have been on the receiving end of one of those does not make it a bad product or bad company.
If you can't see that or behave in a more grown up manner, then I suggest move on to another forum. If you can, then great stick around
