I've looked at a few V8 Vantages now and on the drivers seat on some cars you can see the outline of the heated seat elements. Is there anything that can be done about this?

It detracts from the look of the seat IMO. Maybe I'm just being unrealistic on an older car, I'm not sure. I've never seen it on any of the other cars I've owned though.

Thanks

David.

It certainly does detract from the look of the seat. Fixing that would probably be costly.
What are those other marks on the lower outer part of the backrest? A repair perhaps.

The leather in the car does look very shiny. Possibly flash photography, but could it be the misuse of
polish. The photo does show that some contrasting white stiching, does help with interior looks.

You are being very patient with your search David. Thought you had decided on a 4.7, but perhaps few owners want to sell, me included.

I've seen a couple like this. That effect - plus the bolster wear - suggests the previous owner was of a portly disposition. It's a shame as this car was on my watchlist for some time (being quite well specced) but the seat condition put me off.

I dare say the heating element has contributed to this look so the best fix would be to cover the elements with some new foam to prevent a reoccurrence. Any decent retrimmer will find this a straightforward enough job.

I was looking for a 4.7 originally but got fed up looking for one in the spec I want. Then we moved house and I stopped looking for a couple of months and just in the last fortnight I've started again.

I found a black 2012 last week that ticked all the boxes in Newcastle, I rang up and enquired about the car and went away to think about it. When I rang back an hour or two later they wouldn't take my deposit as they had realised they'd underpriced it by £11k.

Rather then looking at a 4.3 or 4.7 at the moment I'm looking for a car in a colour I like with the spec I want and I'm still drawing a blank. I've been to look at a couple but they've not been in anywhere near as good a condition as I'd expected having read the adverts and looked at the pictures.

Blair at AM in Edinburgh has been fantastic. He's got a specific list of what I want in a car and he's keeping an eye out for me. Unfortunately there's not much around in the dealer network however he keeps phoning for a quick chat to let me know he's not forgotten and he keeps throwing curve balls at me as well which are fantastic but usually waaaay out of budget ha ha.

What worries me about those seats is the heating element. I've worked on a modern car seat for a friend before and the heating element was integrated into the foam that's part of the leather cover so I'm a bit concerned about having a punt on the presumption it can be fixed.

I got fed up after being messed around by Newcastle AM last week and nearly went and changed my Range Rover for 2015 5.0 Supercharged but my other half talked me out of it.

Apparently so, here's the car when I saw it...

Here's the same car on the Aston site today...

It took them over a week to realise they'd done it so I wasn't impressed tbh.

David.

My Vantage is over 10 years old now with nearly 80K miles on it and I cant see the heating elements. There is wear on the side bolster and edge of the seat though. Never seen that before.
