"The new Vantage will blow the DB10 away"

More than the V12VSM, I think a spectacularly beautiful new Vantage would be more likely to tempt me away from my V12V

The photos that we have seen so far, of the 2018 Vantage test car, carried heavy disguise. That testing was for a specific part of the car.
I hear that the next test concerns cooling, so therefore the front needs to have the design openings. A 'little bird' has described specially made front bodywork for the test car, which apparently gives the appearance of a DB11.
I hope it's not a total departure from the current design. And it's still recognizable as a Vantage. I'd rather see evolutionary as opposed to revolutionary, like the 911 has been. We will see in about a year, and the years fly by.
I really want to see a spoiler, I don't want to look at and see the F-type tail end.

I,m sure it will look lovely but no normally aspirated V12 ,it won't be the same.More than the V12VSM, I think a spectacularly beautiful new Vantage would be more likely to tempt me away from my V12V

The next year or so will leave us all spoilt for choice anyway.

I agree with both of you. But when a car is as stunning as the new Vantage will be, heart overrules head.

Indeed that was my "concern". When the current V8V came out - I had been all set to go for a DB7 V12 GT. With no V12V in sight at the time - I made a gut wrenching choice to go for the V8V because - well - just look at it. Hoping to not have to make such a choice again....The next year or so will leave us all spoilt for choice anyway.

has anyone seen the model for the car? that interview seems to suggest Marek has been showing it off to prospective customers (many of whom I imagine are on this forum). Was he just talking a good game, or has it actually been shown off to customers?
Our only chance would be that French man, who posted a photo of the DB11 before launch.
His card is now probably marked, 'Under no circumstances admit to Warwickshire'.

Before the official launches of new models, we like to discuss any information that becomes available.
Could it be possible that car makers leak 'snippets' on purpose, to create anticipation and pre-lauch publicity?
I really want to want this, but... It looks like it has the mirror mounts that make the windshield pillar look like it's broken at its base (like the DB11). Worse, MUCH worse, is that this article seems to provide more info than I've seen yet about the AMG V8 engine -- and it seems to be just an AMG engine. An Aston sump and "manifold system on top" do NOT an Aston Martin engine make.

Sounds like AMG may only providing the short block. Aston will provide their own dry sump, intake manifold, exhaust system headers catalytic converters and mufflers. I was skeptical, but now feel better about the possibility it will sound like an Aston should. And not like a AMG GT, the sound which I'm not a fan of. Tuning the sound of that engine can't be simple or quick.

If they can get 500bhp + V8 forced induction into the Vantage from the off, with another 50-100bhp to come later in the "S" then that will do....well at least it will equal 5 year old Jag power outputs
seriously, they must have something pretty tasty planned for the new V8, the DB11 styling is ok, not sure I like the rear. Would be nice if that is not carried across to the V8....

I'm afraid the next Vantage is not going to be beautiful. The DB10 was supposed to be an indicator of how the next Vantage will look, a better indicator than the DB11 as they are now supposed to be easily distinguishable. But I'm sure it's still going to look waaaay better than any of the competition.
And please don't suggest the "evolution" of the 911 as inspiration - a design that's barely changed in 50 years?? And who gives a sm3g who made the engine..

Of course its all subjective as to whether a car is beautiful. A 996 C4S is a pretty good looking car but its not beautiful. But its 12 years old and still cuts it.And please don't suggest the "evolution" of the 911 as inspiration - a design that's barely changed in 50 years?? And who gives a sm3g who made the engine..
The V8V came out around the same time and you can easily pass off a 05 car on a private plate as a lot newer. But it still looks beautiful now and everyone agrees its aged well. But, will the DB11 or new Vantage in as many years? That's the tester. In the case of the DB11 I don't think it will so we will have to hold out on the new Vantage.
