What's this?

I found this piece of plastic covering lying loose in the engine compartment of my 2011MY Virage. I've had a look around and can't immediately see where it could have come from.
Any ideas please?

Looks like it goes on the end of the safety-catch handle you use to open the bonnet after you have pulled the lever inside the car.
