Hi all.
It's time order the sills for my -69 DBS or to be more correct, give instructions to the metal folding company.
They will be galvanised.
Does anyone have any thoughts on the best thickness of steel to order. Original or a tad thicker. I need it in mm rather than gauge.
Thanks.

It might be cheaper and quicker to buy the parts and use them. It wont be galvanised, but there is some really good anti tust stuff on the market these days

Hi Will, been a while since l have been on the forums.Your book had just been released so its been a while.!
I am in Sweden so the post makes it expensive.
As l work as a panel beater here its not uncommon for me to send a profile of a sill to them and next day l have it. They always come galvanised so l thought why not! In fact to specify non galvanised for a sill would be questioned.

The panel specialist at Chiltern Aston says 16 gauge, which I think is about 1.5mm if that helps?

That really helps alot Jim. Thats what l measured it at but as some material may have been lost when l cleaned it l wanted to check. 1.5 mm it will be then.
