2013 db9 volante prices up or down
Discussion
Hi there I have been looking at a 2013 volante new shape priced at 84k which is quite reasonable compared to what's about but would I better of waiting 6 months ? Will the price come down dramatically due
to the db9 not getting built anymore
With the db11 coming out will this effect the prices up or down
Thanks
Neil

DB11 won't dramatically affect early 13MY DB9 prices until used examples start to filter through (you are looking at £160k new with a few options (Coupe) vs £84k for your example, which looks good value depending on spec/mileage?!), but they will clearly have an affect on nearly new DB9's and all 9 prices in the long term.
I think the first 13MY DB9's will continue to be in demand just like early 4.7 Vantage's are, because they are the cheapest route into a major upgrade for the model (it's a great car and the Volante in particular is much improved over the earlier 9). But, 3 year old models still have a long way to go on the downward depreciation curve, you only have to look at earlier cars to see where they are heading (although you will see a step in price with 09MY DB9 over the earlier MY's due to the substantial upgrades applied at that time and the 13MY offers a much bigger step up!).
With regards to your 6 month question, the major factor there is the time of year, you will get a better price on a Volante in December/January, but dealers are also getting better at managing their stock so there will be less cars to choose from, so it depends how choosy you are with regards to colour/spec.
Best of luck in the search, the 13MY+ DB9 Volante is a stunning beast and that is a lot of car for £80-90k!

Would the "flood" of DB9's from upgraders not affect values?I think the first 13MY DB9's will continue to be in demand just like early 4.7 Vantage's are, because they are the cheapest route into a major upgrade for the model (it's a great car and the Volante in particular is much improved over the earlier 9). We are talking about the DB11 Volante which isn't out yet, not until next year, the initial cars are all Coupes.
I agree there will be px which can certainly affect values short term, but Aston have been successful at attracting past clients and new business alongside any existing upgrades which won't just come from 9, but also Vantage, Virage, Rapide, DBS, Vanquish.
Talking use values, I'd be more worried about investing in the likes of a Ferrari 430 or GT3 (etc) at the current market peak prices, there is a bubble waiting to do the usual! At least Aston used prices are "fairly" sensible.

Bin's... how are you enjoying that stunning DBS of yours, you lucky chap
Safe to say it's the best car I've ever owned chum, quite staggering. Off to BR next week to get a throttle remap, which will give it a bit more urgency. You weren't lying when you sang its praises. Just a bit sad summer is coming to an end, as I can't stop driving it! Pain in the arse to keep clean though, but looks magnificent when washed. Actually, on reflection, doesn't look too shabby when it's dirty! Hope you're well.
Is yours a manual or tip?
I always drive mine (tip) in sports as the throttle map in normal mode seems far too slow.

Manual Vinnie, hence no sport mode. My throttle is like yours in non sport mode all of the time! Next Friday will see my car being perfect and the elusive heel and toe will return. I'm surprised the manual map is so soft tbh.
Ah I see. Yes the throttle map in standard mode is really unresponsive - I had assumed it was because I came from a '05 DB9 which was a bit too sensitive, but I guess it's the car!Car looks lovely by the way
