North Wales trip - wow!
Discussion
If you're anything like me and wondered whether a road trip is really worth it, I'm here to say "what are you waiting for?"
At short notice last week I decided that myself and my wife should get off our thumbs and take a trip to enjoy the roads in and around Snowdonia.
Knowing that the driving element would appeal rather more to me, I earned massive brownie points by booking Pale Hall near Bala. Just reopened and with Michael Caines as the restaurant partner, it was magnificent. As a tight so and so I asked and got a decent discount on dinner, bed and breakfast. If you don't ask island all that...
Anyway, after setting off from Bedfordshire at about 4.30pm we arrived at about 7.30pm where the Aston seemed rather appropriate to the hotel...

And had a great dinner cooked by Michael himself which made my wife and my tummy very happy.
After a good nights sleep we set off....

And soon after found the B4391 to Ffestiniog. I haven't got a pic of the roads as by now it was raining and I was concentrating on keeping my P&J on the road, keeping my wife relaxed in the passenger seat while still 'making progress' as they say....

Eventually found Snowden, we'll sort of, it's the one under the cloud....

Gratuitous pic on road opposite a Snowden viewing point...

And from there to take in the Evo Triangle. By now the sun had come back out and dried the roads and I can honestly say the B4501 was absolutely awesome with flowing corners, some gradient and great scenery. I've never felt more together with my V12V as the roads were wide enough not to worry and twisty enough to keep me interested.
I'm not with the Welsh tourist board or have any affiliation to Pale Hall, I'm just a regular chap who loved the whole experience.
Well worth a 450 mile round trip in 24 hours and my back was absolutely fine in the lightweight seats. I now know if I put the effort in, the rewards of V12V ownership are even greater than I ever imagined.
Just do it
