Hi!
I'm new to Aston Martin ownership having only purchased a 4.3 Vantage in May this year. The rear tailgate of my car has been damaged and needs some fibreglassing work. I have notice the Vantage S has a larger duck tail spoiler than the 4.3. Ive spoke to my body shop and he said he is confident he can't fibreglass the larger spoiler in. I'm not certain on his method but he is confident he can do it. I'm wondering if anyone with a Vantage S could provide me with some measurements from their car that I could use on my car to create the Vantage S look. All I would need is some measurements perhaps from the highest point of the spoiler to the bottom of the boot lid and perhaps some of the edge measurements where it steps up! Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks
Sam

The increased height of the rear spoiler is not just S model.
The change was made to V8 models early in 2012 (Model Year 2012.25)

Just wondering about the V12V. I cannot remember exactly when it was introduced, or whether it had the higher spoiler before the V8.

The car was originally designed with a continuous smooth curve, from the rear wing all the way across the spoiler. That curve was lost, when the spoiler was changed, but sales of the model were falling, so it was time for a facelift.

Astonbits have trunk lids for sale. According to them, S and non-S lids aren't interchangeable.

Yes I believe some of the newer Vantages have it as standard. Not sure it the v12 has an even larger spoiler! I'm ideally after some measurements of how big the spoiler is so I can pass these over to the body shop man to make up a spoiler. Like you say the original is a smooth sweep where as the newer models have a step up in the centre giving it a bit more height!

Hi there, you may have misunderstood me, I'm after converting my 4.3 smooth boot lid into a Vantage S boot lid by adding the spoiler on in fibreglass when the car gets painted! I've seen Aston Martin Bits' prices and they seem very expensive and like you say there is no guarantee they will fit

Personally I wouldn't bother. It's a bit of a gamble on the result and you wont have the balance of the front splitter found on the later cars when the rear spoiler was introduced. If it does anything its just likely to introduce more understeer.

Well my other option was a stick on Kamm spoiler but I personally don't like the look of them as they are not blended in. The car will be getting the 2012 front bumper and side skirts as well so it will all be matched. I just need to get some measurements of the S spoiler
