The sat nav screen on my 2007 DB9 Valente will not rise or fall. I can hear the mechanism working and can manually raise or lower the screen when it is. The nav. system itself is working okay. Usually take the Garmin if I need sat nav but prefer everything to work even if it's an Aston.
Anyone know the cause - is it a DIY job or do I throw money at the main dealer?

Depending on how technical you want to be, it can be a DIY job. The plastic gears give out eventually and are not too much money, part number - 4G43-37-11034 or http://astonmartinbits.com/models/4-DB9/parts/676. You need to remove the top cover from the dash and then 4 screws and remove the screen assembly, then swap the gears. Simples......

All the best,

James

As James says, it's quite a doable job. The parts cost me less than US$15 including shipping last month.

PS: If you send me your email address, I can send you AM's service bulletin/installation instructions for the replacement nav gears.

Hey guys, I've got the same issue with my Nav screen on my 2007 Vantage. Could someone get me the part numbers and instructions on how to remove the screen and cover?
Thanks

Here is the part number: 4G43-37-11034
Here is a link to the PDF of the bulletin: www.6speedonline.com/forums/attachment.php?attachm...

Anyone have a good source for the part? I can't find any US vendors with it, and the overseas options are pretty expensive right now with shipping.

I'm adding that to my website soon. It's pretty cheap. I'm finishing up a DIY guide for putting them in to go along with the product listing. I'll have them in stock next week.

Not sure what constitutes advertising on here so I don't want to post any links, but feel free to shoot me a message if you'd like.
