Hi guys
first time posting on the Aston Forum... picked up a 06 Vantage in Titanuim Silver with 12000 miles on the clock last weekend and a few questions if OK
Firstly ..on the dash where the R comes up when put in reverse ( manual box ) does it have any other function as when driving in forward gears it stays blank and secondly ..first time of having the heater on this morning and it didnt feel that hot even when on max setting and fan speed set at max and hot air was on the passenger side and cold on my side... i guess that isn't normal.
While it is still under warrenty from the dealer ..
Thank you you in advance
Regards
Ian

Welcome. The display can be toggled via a button on the LH stork end and will show instantaneous mpg, ave mpg, ave speed, distance to empty and the main one is current speed, as the analogue speedo is about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike.
As for the heating, no idea, but certainly doesn't sound right so a trip to the dealer beckons. There is a rule about posting pictures for your first visit, so get some on!

The small screen where the R comes up has some sort of "shift lights" when on forward gears. You'll get 1, then 2 and finally 3 red bars as you approach the rev limiter.first time posting on the Aston Forum... picked up a 06 Vantage in Titanuim Silver with 12000 miles on the clock last weekend and a few questions if OK

My heating is definitely hot and powerful so you might want to get yours looked at!
Thank you for that, got the average speed etc working ok it was or is the shift light not working so along with the heater have to get that sorted.
How do you post post pictures and might try and get along to the meet on Sunday at Grange in Brentwood as it isn't that far from me.
Cheers

It's not a shift light as such.
Apart from reverse it shows nothing most of the time. What he meant was, as you get very close to the red line (E.g 500rpm), you'll see a single red line illuminate - and if you keep revving, you'll see two lines, then 3 lines and finally hit the rev limiter.

Red lining each gear with a manual was fun, trying to change at the perfect light change was a challenge.

Thank you for that , i'll shall have to go and try , only for the sake of making sure it works officer
I am having the rear windows tinted and waiting for the paper work to come through for a new number plate ( 50th birthday presant ).I an also having a switch put in the cab ( hidden of coarse ) to make the exhaust switchable from inside and the side lights turned into to driving lights like the later models.

Ah, very common fault (I replaced mine last month). Usually noticed because the engine temperature gauge stays too low or takes too long to get up to temp.Just a quick up date and if anyone else has a similar problem ...i picked the car up from Grange at Brentwood yesterday reference the heater problem i had and it turned out to be the Thermostat and block pollen filters .
