Wonder if anyone can help me. I've got a 2006 V8 Vantage with the red rear light clusters, I really like the clear lens lights from the newer car and would love to install them however they all seem very pricey.
I'm wondering if there is any way to convert the red rear lights to clear lens ones. Is it possible to remove the red lens film and replace clear bulbs with colour ones? If so has anyone done it before and could they offer some advice.

Many thanks
Sam

I think (someone will no doubt correct me if I'm wrong) that the red lenses are red all the way through - so not something you can change to clear. If you are not prepared to pay for a new set, then keep an eye on eBay as occasionally a second hand pair of clear lenses will come along.

Unfortunately no you cannot replace the rear light "bulbs" they are not filament lamps they are all LED's so cannot be replaced.

The unit is a sealed unit (although a few have separated them because of condensation issues)

The clear light units have clear LED's which light up in a colour.

I know they are expensive but you need to buy the clear units, keep an eye on ebay, I got mine for £350 for the pair, then sold the old red lights for £300 so a total outlay of just £50 !!!

When you do the job you will need to replace the 6 foam washers as they are a once only use, they prevent water coming into the boot area, look on aston martin bits, around £8 for all 6.

Ah that's a shame, thourght I could get away with a cheap modification! Thanks for your help, I'll keep searching through eBay, I have seen them a lot cheaper on eBay than new so I may have to invest in a few weeks time!
Many thanks

Leave the red ones on. They look great.

Only a few colours suit the clear lenses.
