Hi guys,
Hi have just registered as I am about to take delivery of a 2005 Oyster Silver DB9 Manual having been looking for a DB9 for a while.
I drove a TT car and have seen the debates over which gearbox, but the overall drive, condition, spec etc was just what I wanted.
I'll figure out how to get some photos up shortly, but in the meantime I'd be interested to hear any thoughts on my spec, it seems pretty rare, not many Oyster Silvers about and even less manuals.

Hello John,
Welome.
If this is your first Aston Martin, I am sure you will very much enjoy the experience. They create that something extra feeling on every drive, which often makes us take the long route home. You don't get that with many cars.
I don't know too much about the DB9s, but I do like driving a manual Aston. There is so much power that they can pull in any gear, but changing gear with clutch and stick, I feel is appropriate for traditional sports and GT cars.
Have fun when you take delivery.

I certainly plan to, I may even take a day of work to excercise my OCD and get it properly clean.Welome.

I have just sold my DB9 Manual. Very shortly after I bought it I realised that I couldn't live with the 'Industrial' gear box/clutch. Trying the get the car in to 1st or 2nd gear when cold was a real struggle to the point that my wife couldn't even drive the car.John
I was within days of returning it when I found a thread on the forum describing how much difference a 'Lightweight Flywheel' & 'Twin Plate Clutch' made to the overall drivability of the car.
I chose Bamford Rose for the task which I had done under 'Project Blofeld'. It absolutely transformed the car which I enjoyed for 4 years trouble free motoring.
Of course there are other independents that can do this but I can only recommend Bamford Rose as that is who I used.

Ah thanks for the heads up. I drove it quite extensively, it's had the gearbox oil changed and it's ok from cold, but that does sound like a good solution, I'll have a Google. So did all the DB9 manuals have a single plate clutch and the twin plate was only OEM on DBS and V12V?I was within days of returning it when I found a thread on the forum describing how much difference a 'Lightweight Flywheel' & 'Twin Plate Clutch' made to the overall drivability of the car.
