V12S battery disconnect switch?
Discussion
Gents,
I am wondering where the battery disconnect switch is located in the V12 Vantage S. I cant find any switch in the boot, or behind the seats or anywhere else in the car. Also there is nothing stated in the user manual. Is is possible, that the V12S does NOT have the battery disconnect switch?
Any help appreciated.

No I don't think so. Dealer advised me to connect the battery conditioner (which was supplied free of charge when I bought the car) if not used for 15 days. So it is essential to have some kind of power supply I would say.
I think you can also buy a solar battery conditioner, available as an accessory.

Any tips what to do when putting it into storage over the winter?
Is it enough if I start it up every now and then?
I am Mr. Light User, so now have experience of this.
The lack of use is due to circumstances not desire.
It is certainly not enough to start the engine now and again.
The starting procedure will take more out of the battery, than running the engine will return. You will also create the initial running engine moisture, and that will remain within the engine and exhaust. I do at least a minimum monthly trip of 25 miles, to keep everything in good order and therefore hot when put back into store.
I see that you are in Switzerland, so the winter weather and salt presumably stops you following my technique. I don't therefore know what you can do.

Thanks, that's what I thought as well.

Two choices for you....Any tips what to do when putting it into storage over the winter? Unfortunately I can't plug it onto the battery charger as there is no power supply in my garage.

1) Disconnect negative battery terminal, or
2) Buy 2 of the large portable battery charger packs and plug one into the port into the boot. When it starts to drop below some voltage (12.5v), remove, swap in the other pack, and then recharge the removed one. So basically rotate them once a week.
I do live in Switzerland and don't intend using the Aston in the winter. I don't have snow tires mounted and thus don't know when and if I can go for a 25 km trip every 2 weeks or so. And quite frankly I want to avoid it as the risk of having an accident is too high.
I do have the car parked in the underground parking of the apartment building I live in. As mentioned there is no power outlet, so I can't use the battery conditioner.
There is an Aston dealer in CH which offers a secure deposit of Astons over the winter months, thought 600 CHF per months for this service is too expensive for my taste.
The option of disconnecting the negative pole sounds promising. Any implications by doing so?

Disconnecting the cable will mean loss of all user programmed settings, and more importantly the window drop function and seat memory. You'll have to leave at least one window open to just below the seal so that you can open the door in the spring w/o ruining the seal. I'm pretty sure the owner's manual covers what happens when the battery goes dead.
Honestly, I'd rather the two battery pack option, unless it is too much of job to rotate them into the boot.
